Credit card not showing on credit report

Hi all,

After a bit of advice on the best way to correct something on my credit report.

I have 2 credit cards, both with NatWest.

One has a balance of about £5300 at 0% until Dec 2026 and a limit of £7,100. I use it for all my day to day spending and have the equivalent in savings ready to pay it off if and when needed.

The other was the card I used prior to getting the 0% one so it normally has a balance of 0 as its now my back up card, it has a credit limit of £10,000.

I have no other debt other than £18K left on my mortgage.

I applied to extend my credit limit (to £9k) on the 0% card and was rejected. This prompted me to check my credit report. Everything on there looks good (no defaults etc, 1 hard search in 24 months, todays reject credit extention only a soft search, mortgage showing correctly, no overdrafts) however my affordability score is showing as low because the only credit on my report is the unused £10k card, the 0% is not showing at all, anywhere. So it looks like I have no evidence of using credit well.

I have had the 0% card since April 2025 so its not just a case of it being too new to show up.

How do I fix this? Do I go to NatWest and tell them they arent reporting it correctly? If so does anyone know an email contact to do this via - I want to have it in writing rather than doing it over the phone.

Or do I go via the credit reference agancies - this doesnt feel right as surely they are only reporting what they are told and its NatWests responsibility to tell them which they arent doing.

Edited to add:

The 0% card is not showing on Transunion

Both accounts show correctly on ClearScore (Equifax)

Have you checked all three of the credit reference agencies' reports? Unlikely that Natwest report to one but not the others but there may be historical reasons.

Don't think getting the reporting changed will have any effect on NatWest's decision.

Since you have no other credit outstanding (other than the mortgage), NatWest will be well aware of your current profile and it seems that extending your limit over the £17k you already have is just not hitting their criteria.

They don't know that you have the funds to clear that 0% balance, to them it's just unsecured lending.

Thanks for the reply - have edited to add what 2 of 3 agencies report (awaiting access to Experian).

I'm not in any drastic need for credit so it doesn't bother me too much that it's not showing, just don't want to be the reason that prevents me getting my next 0% card for stoozing.

I know it isn't an exact science but do you think I'd be better to reduce the unused 10K credit limit before trying to get the next 0% card to reduce the chance of being rejected due to already having a high limit?

Why have 2 cards with NatWest? It's not like you can BT from one to the other. Maybe cancel the one you're not using at all and then try a different bank next time.

What other credit are you using? Overdraft? Phone contracts? Monthly insurance payments? Too much available credit may be taken in to account when applying again.

I don't think anyone can answer that directly, although NatWest will have access to your internal accounts and may simply have decided that £17k of exposure is as much as they want to give you.

As regards other providers just do a check on the provider's site, which most seem to provide, before actually applying.

2 cards with NatWest because I've had one with them for 10+yrs that I paid off in full every month and then they offered me a 0% card so I took it in order to start stoozing (after I learnt what it was on here). Original kept open purely as a backup.

No other credit. Never used an overdraft, phone is SIM only lebara on a v cheap deal with no contract, all insurances paid annually.

I had a quick look at what is available to me on the MSE eligibility checker and I'm getting lots of 0% balance transfer and purchase cards on there so I think you are right, 17K is just what NatWest want to offer.
