Chunks, did you get the sig. from Royal Mail??
I have had neither the sig. nor the email acknowledgment so far. It has only been confirmed it's been delivered!!!!!!
Don't get me started with Royal Mail. lol The quicker these mupets get taken over the better for me, they may sell 1st class stamps but the service is 3rd class at best.

That's all you need (getting the "electronic signature" is only belt and braces, and not required to show a court your item was delivered).

Feeling a bit sheepish Lynsey, knowing that you were ahead of me (claim-submission-wise) but now seemingly behind the curve. I am putting it down to my boyish charm and the fact that I took a hostage when I handed over my valuable cargo at the Post Office.

I haven't seen the signature view online Lynsey. I wasn't clear if you have to cough up another £2.20 to view it. On the basis that I am saving up for possible litigation, I thought I would wait.

Anyway, before I could brew my celebratory tea, bingo, the email arrives.

Quentin's view appears to coincide with my understanding so don't worry. In many ways (subscribing to the theory that they might be clueless rather than clever) not hearing at all might work to your advantage in the end. Now, guess we wait.

One thought by way of preparation.....

If your claim is rejected on (heaven forbid) valid grounds (assuming it can be remedied quickly) can you resubmit? Has it happened to anyone??

Yes you can resubmit your documents, assuming there is enough time to beat their deadline. Though note they exclude Saturday from the working week (even though the post still gets delivered on Saturdays - (at the time of writing) - which means they say your claim must reach them within the time stated or before if the last day of the claim window is a Saturday!)

FWIW, I always try and post on a Saturday or a Monday to arrive ASAP at the beginning of the week. I never send on a Friday for potential issues as stated above.

No, there is no £2.20 to pay and you have already paid your 74p (I wrongly stated 75p previously). The 74p is the fee for getting and providing/showing the sig. If they don't/can't provide it just claim it back.

    Thanks again ALL.

There's another thread on here about Mobiles.Co.UK with current posting (and clearly some 'previous' judging from some of the comments flowing back and forth between contributors). Anyway, moving on...

Correct me if I am wrong Lynsey but do you not have a contract with T&C's applicable to contracts taken out Sept 2009 to including April 2010? The time-frames were tighter then - more friendly/generous to victims - sorry - clients?

They had to acknowledge within 24hours and accept (or not) the claim within 7 days according to your applicable T&C's? You're in clover aren't you??

Quentin is right; there is much research to understand this dealer. I have to laugh - their Rep claimed t&c weren't t&c and payment timescales we - according to him - 7-14 days even though it was more like 60. The very thought of this company "having" to abide by its own t&c is amusing. Following in the path of other cpw offshoots, they believe they can act as they like, re-write t&c and even then not follow them at any point they choose. They are like Gods; they can reinvent the English language so that cheques "raised", "sent" and even "PAID!" means (only to them) that they've ticked the box and passed it over to the next stage in their long-winded process. They can keep re-writing the number of days it TAKES TO RECEIVE actual PAYMENT until it's so vague it's undeciferable. At the same time, they can take up to two months to pay yet claim they are one of the FASTEST paying dealers (whilst at least one other company - and now even another cpw clone, E2Save) produce actual payments in 2-3 weeks!

Of course, if you can follow the groundrules, ignore whatever they might come out with at any particular time and enforce the actual t&c YOU signed up to. However, many people get lost in the swirling waters of time, trust and confusion created by those who would rather not pay. I will be fair - usually they do. Most of the time IF you get it right. BUT there are those times when they single a claim out and then - well, we've seen it all before.

Still makes me laugh though - They "HAVE" to follow their own t&c!! They only HAVE to do it when YOU make them.
