Regards to LBA'ing them, once a claim has been rejected send a LBA immediately giving them between 7-14 days to sort it or tell them to wait to be contacted by MCOL and act accordingly.

There is no point giving anyone "between 7 - 14 days to sort it".

(All that means is you cannot proceed till the upper limit has been reached)

Put a finite time for them to comply in a LBA, (eg "unless the money is received within x days from the date of this letter....."), then if ignored after the x days have elapsed you can proceed.

Quentin, I did mean put a figure (date) in. I normally give 10 days because I'm nice, others like to give 7 days and some even nicer than myself give the full 14 days.

Alex. I think you may be complicating things - just email Mobiles.co.uk and ask them for confrimation that your account has been updated with your ported number - AND SAVE THAT REPLY.

Hi Lynsey - in replying to did you intend your comment (regarding getting confirmation of the updated mobile number) be directed to me rather than 'Alex'? I am not sure how well organised they are or if it is in their interest to help (!) but the process might take time, at the very least. Did you get confirmation from mobiles.co.uk and if yes, how long did it take? I might try both routes in the hope that someone gives me the missing 'link'.

    What fun eh....?

Sorry chunks "Alex" is on the other thread. :o

Yes, just keep it simple "Chunks" and ask for confirmation that your account has been updated with your new "ported" number.
Obviously your network bills will show your ported number and this needs to match with what is on your Mobiles.co.uk account - simple, or it should be and with this mob I would want acknowledgement that is has been updated.
Mine was acknowledged by email within two days.

    Sorry. :o

I have submitted two cashback claims so far with mobiles.co.uk, both online and both have been accepted and approved. Also the mobiles.co.uk representative on this forum is very helpfull so if you have any issues contact her.

Thanks Lynsey. Was fairly certain you were addressing my point but you get a tad paranoid after a while. Thankfully the nervous tick hasn't developed just yet. :D

Nickp8 - glad to hear it's so far so good for you. Clearly, you have followed the rules (having done your homework). Sadly, it appears not everything is rosy in the garden........... despite the copious quantities of manure evident.

May have spoke to soon. Still no cheque for the first claim that was 'paid' on 27th August. 2nd claim 'paid' 1st October. I see the representative on the forum hasnt been online since end of August.

Edit: A cheque just came in todays post! It is actually sent by Carphone Warehouse, it doesnt state which claim the cheque is for though.
  • Their definition of "paid" is merely moving a piece of paper to the next stage - which mean s it hasn't been paid at all. They use words to suit themselves, not the English language.

nickyp8 - er... were those on-line submissions via THEIR website? I submit all mine on-line - but not that way because it is fraught with danger.

Yes on-line submissions via their website but I did email it direct as well.

My 1st claim has been delivered, but not yet acknowledged by any email!!!
MJ, or anyone who has had a previous claim with these:
1: - do they normally acknowledge by email??
2: - if yes, how long does it normally take??

This will help me now and no doubt others for the future, hence the open post and not Pm'ing.
