Hi there,
We respond to all emails within 4 hours (generally a lot, lot less) and are experiencing high staff absence currently, as the message warned you. Our customer services are first class, but we emphasise contact via email in order to keep costs low (and deals good) and because we're an online retailer, not a call centre; I'd point out that the 3 largest retail websites in the country, Play.com, Amazon and eBay don't even list a phone number on their site.
Of course you're welcome to not use our site if you prefer telephoning to emailing, but to call us "a non-customer service champion" doesn't seem fair.
To answer your final question, yes, we are the only company offering cashback on the iPhone.

Hrm, I didn't choose great examples, did I?However, I'm not sure how long it would take to contact either via phone.
My point was, online retailer = cheap deals because online retail = low overheads, which come from offering great customer service in ways that online retail makes possible. We could run a massive headcount call centre and answer all phone calls within 3 rings, but then there'd be no £60 cashback.
I hope you can see where I'm coming from with this?

Yes. Promoting an ideal which isn't being realised at the moment, and admitting the company is understaffed, which might tempt some people to wonder why.0
