MJ, if by "almost daily" you mean twice in 5 years, and then once because someone on MSE pointed out something that could be made clearer, you're absolutely correct.

Anyway, thanks for your comments and rest assured this matter is now dealt with.

Well that was 112 minutes to get put through to Custmer Services and they've just hung up a couple of mins ago.
Not much further on as still have to wait for an email.
They were unable to help regarding price discrepancy on the tariff so have got to ring O2 now

    Hi

Just thought I would input some information I have just received.
Short version of story. I ordered a phone from mobiles.co.uk yesterday (hoping to receive today) - was declined  and the e-mail I received suggesting phoning Carphone warehouse and gave number.

Carphone Warehouse had no record and suggested contacting mobiles.co.uk. I thought that as it is an on-line company an e-mail rather than a phone call would be better.
E-mailed yesterday and received the following

"We aim to respond to you via email within 48 hours of receipt during normal office hours."
Now do I go elsewhere for a phone or wait 48 hours to tell me that they cannot give me one. I would just like an explanation!

    Bluenose,

Could you forward the email that told you to phone Carphone Warehouse to me please?

    Ben at mobiles.co.uk

    Thanks

  • Sorry to hear about your problems.

I have used mobiles.co.uk and am far so very happy, prompt delivery, placed on correct tarrif, direct debit set up correctly, quidco validated, cash back paid, although my last one had to catch up on it as it was about a month after they said they would deliver it within 10 days, they quickly replied saying there was some sort of printing problem on that day with the CPW and will deliver it within 10 days, and i think it was with me within a few days. VERY prompt reply to emails, replied within one hour. I mean I'll be honest I think emails is the way to go as it is much easier to explain and describe your problem in a clear manner rather than on the phone when you have to just say it on the spot.

Also remember a thread based on "bashing" a company is more likely to bring on people who tend to agree with you. So far my experience has been positive.

    So thats my take

Yes it was bought on O2 100 which you say on your website is £15 per month with a reduction for the VAT at 15% instead of 17.5% etc For example a £35 tariff will be billed at £34.26.

However we got a letter from O2 saying it would be £14.69 per month which was followed by a bill a few days later charging £14.83 plus VAT of £2.22 making it £17.05 ??????

I spoke to Customer Services at your place but they had no idea and the person who could help is not in today so I need to phone up O2 and see whats going on

I'm pretty sure actually they have taken a few days extra line rental to set a regular billing date. The tariff price is set by the network

Does sound like some sort of mistake with O2's billing, which they would need to sort out - the actual price should indeed be £14.69 and if they've sent you a letter confirming this then you just need to give them a call - we have no access to O2's billing systems.
