So far we've got snowflake invitations, wedding cake and cupcakes, hair accessories and the flowers are having crystal snowflakes in. Oh my…

village hall/catering/kitchen size
looking at a few village halls which say they can seat 100+ and have cutlery for that many but the kitchens seem rather small (1 or 2 fairly standard sized looking ovens). am i right to assume this means they are only suitable for a cold buffet with say a few hot bits?

What are your old, new, borrowed and blue?
And are you having a silver sixpence in your shoe? My parents and I were discussing my old, new, borrowed and blue the other day, when I mentioned a silver sixpence and they said they'd never heard of that part of the rhyme. They got married in the mid-nineties. Is this a new development or an Americanism, or has it always…

Dress help please!
I went to a wedding fair yesterday and this dress was on the catwalk there...I absolutely fell in love with it and my Mum did too. Does anyone know how much it retails for, or even how much St. Patrick/Pronovias dresses usually retail for? I'm thinking it's probably too expensive for me! :( Has anyone seen something very…

Candelabras?!
I am getting married in March 2014 and we're having a quirky ish theme, somewhat medieval. I have been looking for candelabras for a couple of months as to hire they will be £15-20, so I thought it'd be better to pay that to buy them and then sell them afterwards to make back some money! Does anyone reading know where to…

engagement ring hatton garden or birmingham?
My daughter and partner have been looking at engagement rings in Hatton Gardens in London. They have been impressed at the prices compared with High Street, although they appreciate you have to be careful where you shop. They are planning to go again soon having thought over what they have seen but I have been wondering if…

Even a basic wedding is so expensive!
We are looking to get married next year, but after putting out some feelers today, I can't see it happening. Just the basics are just so expensive - the register office fees and stuff -= £200, Rings = £150 - £200...and that's before one even thinks about guests and stuff. Would people be offended if we invited everyone we…

Vegetarian wedding meal?
I am asking this on behalf of a friend - i.e. with her knowledge and permission - as she would really like to gauge opinions. She is getting married in November 2014. My friend is a vegetarian and has been for 20 years - not for moral, cultural or religious reasons, she decided that a meat free diet was healthier and…

Planning a cheapish wedding for January in Essex!
Help! I was just wondering if anyone could offer any advice re planning a wedding now for the end of January. Venues in Nottinghamshire
Hi, I'm looking for a venue that will allow us to DIY our wedding - own caterers, own food, own decorations etc. It doesn't have to be posh but it does have to have character. A barn or a village hall with wooden beams would be perfect. Needs to accommodate 150-200 people. I know this sounds strange but it needs to be in…
