Snowflake themed wedding

Hi :-)
We have booked our wedding for jan 2015 and are having a snowflake theme, which was fine until now lol when I've run out of ideas of how to incorporate it into the reception! So far we've got snowflake invitations, wedding cake and cupcakes, hair accessories and the flowers are having crystal snowflakes in. Oh my garter has a snowflake on it aswell and I'm going to get snowflakes for my shoes.

I'm struggling to think of how to decorate the room for the evening with snowflakes without it looking bare and stupid.

Any ideas for anything snowflakes themed even if it's for other parts of the day will be very appreciated.

snowflake mobiles hanging from the ceiling, watch out in places like poundland. Or after Christmas in the sales Also you can get window snowflakes for windows or get creative and make them from paper doilies. Laminate them and use as a mat for your centre piece to stand on. Have fun

I love snowflake theme and I have some idea that I can share with you. Assemble your materials first; you can accomplish all of these projects with felt, craft wire, beads, craft paper, and a glue gun. Find wire forms and templates for snowflakes. Good luck for your wedding

Home Bargains have some paper snowflakes in their decorations section, they are really nice and are 99p each, you could hang several in long strings tied together.

we are also having a snowflake themed wedding in December.

regarding themes, i think lighting can really help to create the mood.
our DJ is also doing out lighting, so we are having uplighters around the room in icy blue / purple.

we are then having snowflakes projected onto the wall, which can either be static, or move around

i tried to include pics, but it wont let me as i'm a new user, but if you put "snowflake lighting" in google you should get the idea

I love the lighting :-) definitely gonna speak to our dj n see if he can do anything similar. Going out with the two bridesmaids tonight to see what we can come up with :-) xxx

You're lucky that you're not getting married until January 2015 as you'll be able to pick up loads in the sales after this Christmas! How about some snowflake confetti for the tables? Will pick up the light and sparkle. If you're allowed candles in the venue you can get them with snowflakes on, or get little battery powered strings of snowflake led lights.

It would be nice to make snowflake table settings, either a standard folded piece of card with little snowflakes stuck on or big die-cut snowflakes to put on top of wine glasses (like this), you will probably be able to find packs of big snowflakes like this on ebay or craft websites, or if you have crafty friends one of them may have a die-cutting machine that you can buy a die for and then cut out as many as you like in the colour you want.

My brother had a Christmas wedding so I'm trying to remember what he did to bring snowflakes into it that hasn't been mentioned... he bought some chocolates for favours from an ebay seller, they weren't very expensive and they were customised with their wedding colours with little snowflakes printed on the labels and their names and wedding date. The chocolate was surprisingly nice too!

Thanks birdie :-) I've already got the place settings sorted having traditional place cards in ivory and purple and gonna stick some silver sparkly snowflakes on them to match the invites and table plan that I'm also making myself.i haven't seen any snowflake chocolate but will have a look, we are having a sweet buffet table so they would look nice on there. Battery powered snowflakes I've looked into but I don't think we've got many places to hang them from in the room for the evening tbh. So pretty tho xxx

I would look on Pinterest.com a great place for ideas. I did a quick search for snowflake wedding and there is tons of ideas. If you are familiar with Pinterest then do a search for Snowflake wedding in the board section.
