village hall/catering/kitchen size

looking at a few village halls which say they can seat 100+ and have cutlery for that many but the kitchens seem rather small (1 or 2 fairly standard sized looking ovens).
am i right to assume this means they are only suitable for a cold buffet with say a few hot bits?

It depends on what you're hoping to do. Are you using caterer's? If so they may bring additional equipment of their own. If you're doing it yourself then it depends on what food you want.

thank you, looking at bringing caterers in. i've emailed one of the venues to ask what people have managed there before, just completely unsure as to whether i'm being unrealistic. will also consider emailing a possible caterer too.

I have done quite a lot of catering for my local club, and can manage to feed 30-40 hot portions in one standard oven.

However this only includes two hot options as it were - e.g 2 full trays of x e.g lasagne in the oven, and the 4 hobs on the go with y e.g new potatoes.

If you do it yourself, it will most likely be a cold buffet with a few hot options - or you you could do something like curry and rice (but you would need to do it in 2 'sittings' as it were, which is probably not ideal)

If you do get outside caterers, many will bring their own ovens/hot plates etc.

For example, at my club they got in an outside caterer for a dinner that was held and he managed to do a cold starter, lamb shanks with mashed potatoes and hot veg, and a cold dessert. So that may be more what you are after.

Could you not do an option like chilli and invest in a few large slow cookers to keep it hot? Xxx
