Groom best man and fob suits help

Options
Hiya,

So my oh has picked the suits he wants him the best man and his groomsmen to wear for the wedding. I want my dad in the same suit as them but oh doesn't want that coz it'll make his suit less special, even tho other people are already wearing it :mad:

What can I dress my dad in? Oh is wearing light grey suit with silver cravat and purple waistcoat and the best man and groomsmen have the same suit with purple cravat and silver waistcoat.

Sxxx

  • I didn't want to read and run! Sounds so complex...

I would have gone with a similar suit to the best man. Are there any different types of waistcoats but in the same colouring that you could choose?

  • Its traditional for the dad's to wear the same suit so not sure where he gets the 'less special' idea.
    Married 30/08/14 :heartpuls
  • All the groomsmen wear the same suit just different waistcoat and cravat from the groom.

This is my argument! He wants a traditional wedding and he's cutting out the traditional parts! Xxx

Steph I've tried to tell him this but I'm just hitting a brick wall ATM. I'm trying the reverse psychology route now of 'well if you want your suits to be special dad can have his own separate suit and colours' that might make him want the 'special' one instead xxx

Lol it's not even funny tho tbf. He doesn't want my dad in anything like him and the 2 boys so I've told him I'm gonna put my dad in summit completely different now to try reverse psychology. But my god he is difficult sometimes! We can get everything in diff patterns in the colours we want but he's being adamant he don't want my dad in grey tails like them. There's only so much arguing I can do on a stupid suit :-) xxx

  • Just an idea how about getting your dad the same suit but making him have an ivory waistcoat and purple cravat? That way he's special and different.

Just get the exact same suit as the other groomsmen and then when it shows up, tell your H2B there must have been a mix-up. Haha.

Only joking of course, I wouldn't encourage lying to your H2B... He does sound stubborn though! :rotfl:

Personally i would say he has another reason why your dad cant wear the same suit, and it has nothing to do with him wanting to look special

If my oh-2-be excluded my dad in such a petty way, then i would take it as an affront to my family and the wedding would be off.
