MOB Hair
Don't suit hats or fascinators and am looking for ideas for hair decorations. Have short white hair but any nice hair ornaments that I have seen seem to be crystal or silver and are lost in my hair. Looking for any ideas, dress is maxi, classic 40's style and in plum. Plan to have silver shoes and bag. Thanks for any ideas.

Cheap sweet buffet
Hi all, We are looking at having a sweet buffet at our wedding. At the last fair we went to the proper suppliers are looking at 180-250 to do it for us. Do you think we'd be able to do this cheaper ourselves? I'm looking at catering for 80people. Mother in law is adamant we just book a cart but I'm reluctant to spend that…

Cheap venue in North/Central London?
Hi, I'm having a wedding party in July and i need to find a venue. In a perfect world, we'd prefer a live music venue but these will be hard to find on a Saturday night! Everywhere else i've looked at so far has either been too expensive or not suitable, so i was hoping some people here could recommend a good (cheap!)…

Wedding Hair - Inspiration Needed!
Hello, just looking for some inspiration really - any good websites to ponder over or ideas.... We're getting married in May. My hair is very fine and poker straight, mid length. I've bought a lovely vintage style diamante headband to wear. I've also bought a Remington curling wand and have just tried it out for the first…

Suggestions for Doctor Who themed reception
My wife and I are renewing our vows later this year, and we've agreed* to have a Doctor Who themed do. I'm wearing the outfit that the Doctor wore to Amy and Rory's wedding, and we're having a TARDIS in the gardens for photos as well as a TARDIS cake. I'm trying to think of other things we could do, especially if they can…

Cornwall caterer & photographer recommendations
I'm getting married in Mevagissey, Cornwall this September and other than the venue (swish party house where we'll be staying with our families all week) and the registrar, I haven't booked anything else yet. I'm imagining it as a big family holiday that just happens to have a wedding in the middle, so it'll be a fairly…

Small but possibly still traditional wedding? What lovely weddings have you been to?
My oh proposed whilst away for a romantic weekend, I'm utterly delighted :) :) I've known since meeting he was the one and I'm just so happy :) I'd like to get some plans in motion but the biggest hurdle is 'type' of wedding really! A few pointers are - 1. I've been married before. It was a biggish white wedding type, in…

Looking for the 'perfect' wedding reception venue
Hi everyone, hoped I could pick some brains to help me and OH in the search for our 'perfect' wedding reception venue, ideally in Herts or London. We are getting married abroad but want to have a party for friends and family in Feb 2014, ideally in a nice country pub or somewhere equally chilled out where we can have a…

Our 3k budget wedding planning
EDIT - Well I'm now married and have updated my last post with my final figure. I thought I'd edit this first post to highlight where photos are so if you're just scrolling for ideas etc you don't have to read my constant updated :rotfl: Post 3 shows the banners I got from Vistaprint - I'd hugely recommend Vistaprint, we…

Making own wedding stationary - where to buy card/paper
I'm planning on crafting my own wedding stationary and would appreciate any advice on the best place to find value for money cards/papers. I'm not looking for anything fancy in particular, just plain and matt cards and papers. I ask because I used to buy this sort of thing from the highstreet, from Paper Mill actually, but…

Venue Communication Issue
Hi all We booked our wedding (whole thing from service, to wedding breakfast, to reception) in August to have it all at the same place - a hotel which is part of a small chain up North. I'm getting really stressed out with the lack of contact from the Hotel, since we signed a contract and put down the first sum of money,…

Not having an engagement ring
Not sure why I'm writing this really- probably more to have a rant than anything else. I didn't have a traditional proposal. It was more a mutual agreement. We were both fine with that- it seemed a far more natural way of going about it. Obviously there wasn't a ring involved. My partner said he'd get me one afterwards. I…

Live Wedding Ceremony over the Internet??
Unfortunately for geographical, financial & health reasons, we have several very important people who cannot make our big day. With all the latest technological advances etc, I was looking into the possibility of finding someone who could film the ceremony and broadcast it live over the internet so these people won't miss…

Online wedding dresses
Hi guys, Just a quick question, What are peoples views on ordering wedding dresses online? My partner has found a wedding dress in the exact style she wants. We have scoured wedding shows and shops to no avail. And the fact that the dress she has found has a £500 saving on it appeals more to her, but this deal expires at…

Photographer pregnant, derbyshire recommendations please
Hi all, My photographer has just announced she's pregnant. Whilst I'm over the moon for her (she's a friend too) I'm worried she won't be able to do my wedding. How do I ask without coming across as insensitive or selfish? As I'm panicking about this, I've started looking on the internet for alternatives, does anyone have…
