Factory wedding dress outlet

Options
My daughters and I went to the new Wedding Dress Factory Outlet in Bolton on Saturday. What and experience. We had so much fun choosing dresses for her to try on. The even go up to a size 30. Most dresses were under £500. My daughter chose a beautiful gown. Allow lots of time as the place was packed. The staff were wonderful and were very friendly and helpful. They only sell wedding gowns and a few lace boleros. Nothing else. I can highly recommend a visit to one of these outlets, 3 in total.

  • I'm hoping to go to the London one at the start of October to try a few on, glad you had fun, it's made me feel a bit more confident it'll be a good experience as I was quite worried :)

I bought my dress from there - definitely doesn't look like a £400 dress :)
My advice would be to turn up just before they open at 10am as they get very busy, very quickly (or at least they did over the summer).

I'm glad you had a good experience there :) Like justengaged, I'm also hoping to visit the London one and have heard good things about it from a colleague. I get the impression it's a better atmosphere (less snobby?) than 'normal' bridal shops too :)

Back from the London outlet, and I have to say I was really impressed, I would definitely recommend it to anyone, but alas I didn't find a dress though.

I got there about 10:20 (sat nav issues otherwise would've been there at 10), and there were quite a few people there, but they were all in the skinny minnies sections, so as a 16/18 there was no one else to contend with and I had the whole rack to myself to look through, which was great. We were there until about 12:20 though, and the place was pretty much heaving by then, so would defo say get there early.

Everything was sorted by size which was great, and the selection was good too. Found out that some of the wedding dresses come up a bit small, so where I'm a 16/18 I found some of the dresses a wee bit snug to say the least, but managed to squeeze into them for an idea of what they would look like - this is normal apparently so worth bearing in mind.

The girls there were friendly and helpful, I wasn't too keen on being just in my particulars in front of them, but you have to just get on with it otherwise you've no chance of getting some of them on, but they didn't make me feel out of place or too self conscious what with being a wobbly in places, so their attitude really helped put me at ease.

Nothing there really made me think wow, but as the woman helping me said "you shouldn't like your dress, you should love it" and so I didn't want to buy something and regret it later.

Had a fab time trying them on though, and got a feel for the sort of dresses that do, and don't work on me which was a big plus, so if you can make it to one of these its worth it just for figuring out the style of dress you like.

Oh yeah, most of the dresses were between £349 - £499 so much better than paying through the nose that you would elsewhere.

I bought my dress form their Burbage store on my first outing wedding dress shopping! It wasn't too busy (a Saturday), and the staff were out-of-this-world amazing!! The lady helping me actually said to me that there was a dress she thought I'd look good in so she went and fetched it. She wouldn't let me look at it until it was on and it turned out to be THE ONE! I can't recommend them enough :j

Sorry you didn't find THE dress but glad your experience was good. If you have time to spare could you go back in a month or so to see if the stock has changed. Also you could call to enquire about when new stock is due.

  • I did ask the woman there how often they change stock, apparently they won't be getting in any new stuff this year now, but not sure how correct that is though.
  • I bought mine from the Leicester one - really chuffed with it, just needs shortening. But it's exactly what I wanted at a great price
