Water company have removed meter. Do I still have to have one?
Hi We bought our house nearly three years ago and it already had a water meter fitted. Recently the water company removed it when neighbours complained of low water pressure. Can the water company still force me to have a new one fitted? Cheers, Carl.

Can I demand a refund of account credit?
Hi all, I have done some googling this morning which suggests I may be in a position to seek a refund from United Utilities, but I'm not sure what approach is best to take. We overpaid at our old property due to a leak. I submitted a claim form a few weeks back and a new bill has now been produced - it shows an account…

No water pressure due to storage tank tap water
Hi, since we've moved into another house about 6months back we've always had a problem with pretty much zero water pressure. This wasn't a huge concern, and we put it down to living in a long row of joined town houses. Anyway, we've recently had a new washing machine which now refuses to wash and flashes a "water…

Rain water harvesting system?
Hi I'm not sure whether I'm in the right part of the forum, but I got my first water bill from Anglian Water last week and was horrified at the price!!! It works out about £40 per month. In my last property we were only paying £10 to Anglian Water and £12.50 to a local sewage system (as not on mains). I can understand my…

To move to water meter or not?
We are currently being charged £50 a month by Yorkshire Water ('we' being a couple in a 3 bedroom house), so have been advised by friends to go on a meter, as it should bring bills down closer to £20 a month. This would be fine and no problem, if it weren’t for the fact (I believe?) this is an irreversible change (after a…
