                    Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this. I would really appreciate if anyone can offer any advice. We've lived in our property for 2 years and it's only 10 years old. We had no issues until a few weeks ago. We've had problems with the shower only trickling and the washing machine not filling up properly. I found out that work was done on the pipes in the street and the water was turned off and on again during this time. It is after this work that we had problems. I believe an air lock may have got into the system as a result of the work. The water company are denying all responsibility. They have simply checked the water pressure at the downstairs tap and said the fault is not with them.
Is this correct or where can I get further guidance? I did have a word with a friend who said it certainly could have been caused by the water being turned off and on again.
Thanks

they are correct, have you checked them for grit, as that can sometimes get in the system and bung things up, showers and washers on the inlet have filters check them0

Water Co's turn off the water in streets, every day. They would say, "The water systems in all the other properties on the street managed to cope with this. But yours didn't. Therefore there is a problem with your system"
The problem often occurs when the washer in the internal stop valve drops down, when there is no pressure, and fails to re-open when the water is turned back on.
Try to find your internal stopcock. (under the sink? ) Close it. Then re-open it. Do this several times. If your W/M fills OK, then you've fixed it.0
