in Water bills
I believe I posted this in the wrong section a moment ago so I'm reposting here:
Hi Guys and Gals,
Just need some clarification on this as I seem to be getting no where with my water company.
Moved into my property on 5th April 2012 and set up my water straight away. First payment left my bank on 24th April (paying quaterly) and for the sake of argument I paid £100. Another £100 then left my bank on 24th July as you'd expect (paying in arrears) and then the same in October. The final payment, due in January 2013 also left on schedule. A week later I get my paper bill through telling me the payments are slightly going up, all fine ok. And then February 24th A new payment of the increased amount ( say £110) leaves the bank. i check the schedule of future payments and the next three are due in May, August and November.
Why is this? Why has the next payment gone out a month after the last instead of three months later? I've tried to get information out of the company and I'm not really getting an explanation. At least not one I understand.
Basically, they have said this is the start of a new payment plan and this amount has been taken to cover the on going costs of my usage but this does not explain the reason for taking a payment so soon after the last when I'm paying in arrears.
Forgive my ignorance if I'm missing something but does anyone understand what's going on?
Cheers,
Ollie

Metered or RV billing?
Which water authority?
If metered, you don't pay in arrears, you pay an amount quarterly towards your expected usage, and once your meter is read, the DD should be reviewed and adjusted to reflect your actual usage.
I can't explain why they have advanced your billing cycle one month. If they've taken it earlier than you was scheduled in your last payment plan, then just invoke the DD guarantee with your bank.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
