Why is my water bill so much (NON METERED)
Me and GF live in 2 bedroom flat, all pretty standard. We had high water bills initially, so got a meter. After receiving a REALLY BIG bill, and having an 8 week dispute, it turned out the meter was on a SHARED pipe! So, now the water company have removed it, checked the property and say unfortunately, we CAN NOT have a…

WARNING...Anglian Water Insurance.
The water supply pipe insurance info that I in the mail this morning shows an offer of first year at £12 and no mention of resulting years costs. This I believe to be £60 p.a. Yet anyone signing the direct debit form without checking is in for shock later on. Anglian Water would do well to ditch HOMESERVE.

Double the annual consumption?
We moved into a small rented 2 bed flat in January which has a water meter. Previously we were living in a two bed house where we paid a monthly charge of about £18 for water. It's just me and the OH in the flat. We each shower once daily (probably for about 15 minutes each), wash up twice a day, run the washing machine…

Southern water wrongly charging for surface water drainage
I have just received a rebate from Southern Water, who have incorrectly charged me for surface water drainage for at least the past eight years and possibly longer. Consumers are only supposed to be charged for surface water drainage if rainwater from the property drains directly into the public sewer. In most houses where…

In credit with SW Water
Hello! I think I'm right in that energy companies will now refund you any credit you're in on your 'anniversary' with them. Does this apply to water companies as well. At the last meter reading (3 months ago) I was £77 in credit with SW Water (£44 per month DD), so can I get my money back from them and get my future DDs…

Wrong water meter and refund
My water bills have increased dramatically over the last few years, despite my usage being pretty much same. Thames Water eventually came on site today to check, and basically they were taking readings from the wrong meter in my block of flat. They confirmed by turning off the water supply at the meter. Their system (and…

Screwed over by NPower & Sainsburys- advice needed!!
My bf and I rented a house until Jan of this year. We were with NPower but took part in a mass switch to Sainsbury's Energy in June. At the time, we gave a meter reading for gas and leccy to Sainsbury's which my bf has written on our bill. Everything went fine from then on. We cancelled with Sainsbury's when we left and…

Scotland Water Bills
Hello, I will be moving up to Edinburgh soon for a graduate scheme and my Scottish girlfriend has told me that Scottish people don't pay for water as it is free provided for by the council. I assumed that this would just mean higher council tax. However, on further research it seems that you do pay water, it just goes…

Average water rates>?
I'm not used to living on my own but there will come a point when I'll probably have my own flat. I was shocked to see how much people pay for water in this country. I see for some it costs about £30 a month. Say I were to live in a taxband a flat. Now I know the average rate is regionally dependent. however what's the…
