Thames Water price hike
Having read that Ofwat had stifled Thames Water's plans to hike prices 11+% to pay for infrastructure upgrades last yeaer, I've just noticed that my monthly payments were increased from £28 to £32 last December (around 15%). Have any other TW customers noticed a similar uplift?

Meter installed on neighbours water supply
During 2006 my daughter and I moved into my present property and I was informed by the Water Company that a meter was already in place on the water supply. Over the following couple of years I was billed and paid monthly DD. During 2008 I felt the useage was to high so wrote on a couple of occasions querying the useage. I…

Check that your water bill is actually yours!
A few weeks ago I got my Water Bill telling me that my direct debit was to increase from £54 a month to £84. Such an incredible increase made me get out my old bills and check consumption. I discovered that our household water usage was increasing year on year since 2009 ( the earliest bill I still had), despite the fact…

Sewage problem from next door
Evening all! Not sure if this is in the correct forum but I saw a similar sort of post from a while ago so here goes! :) We recently moved into a new house (built ~1940). It has soakaways for gutter drainage and i'd noticed since moving in a faint whiff of sewage in the kitchen at times, apparently coming from under the…

Water meter requires outdoor tap to be capped
Hello, I'm with Sutton & East Surrey Water and requested that a water meter be fitted (it's just me and my wife in a three bed semi so I thought it might be cheaper than the current circa £450pa). The guy came out but because the pipes are shared with the other semi he said that they'd have to fit the meter nearer the…

Replacement water meter - revised bill
I recently received a letter from Thames Water telling me my water meter was faulty, and that they had replaced it. They have 'recalculated' the final reading for the old meter for the period in which they say it was faulty. This estimate is based on the 2 weeks that the new meter has been in place. They have issued a bill…

South West Water - Sending Bills Frequently at Random Intervals Instead of Quarterly
I have been getting water bills, instead of coming quarterly, they are coming at almost random times. I had this problem last year and it is continuing this year. For example, I got a bill on the 30th of December, then another on the 22nd of January. The January bill also contains the total for December, which I have…

Severn Trent Water
I was paying monthly fixed payments of £45 per month, I found it to be rather pricey so I gave the water meter I go based upon the fact there are just two of us in the household with visits from family now and then. High metered water bill - What are my options...
Typical story really... Got a meter in as I was told it would save money. Me + GF in two bedroom place, and our bill for 6 month was £342 and told we used 163m3 of water. The water company say that is 4 times more than they expect. They've been out once to check meter but I wasn't there. They are now coming out on 20th to…
