Another odd thing is that the address on the bill is for the letting agent, but the "premises supplied" address is for a house the next street over? Could that be the landlords address? It's not ours....

Sorry for long post. So confused :(

Check that the meter serial number on the 'premises supplied' bill is the same as your meter number.

What is the position on standing charges for water and sewerage? Are they split in half, or are you both paying the full charge; or is it only you paying?

The combined charges with Anglian are £80pa or £118pa with surface water drainage.

As you have a copy of the whole bill it is simple to work out your combined(i.e. both properties) consumption from reading your meter - the combined charge for 2014/15 is £3.27 per cubic metre. However you need sight of the next doors meter readings if you are not happy with the letting agents readings.

It is also pertinent to point out that on house conversions the builders sometimes miss a pipe from your side of the house that goes to the other house without going through their meter. i.e. you could have a feed to their toilet/bath/washing machine that doesn't go through their meter.
