Unmetered whilst renting

Hi all
Just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on my possible upcoming predicament before I call Anglian Water.
So I'm currently renting and it's unmetered which suits me fine. Last year as the entry point of the pipe is outside the property on the verge AW decided to put a meter on it although I've never changed over. Not sure if it's part of changing everyone eventually to meters or what.
Anyway I am now in the final stages of completion and have had the drainage search sent across which after reading through states it's currently unmeasured but says the basis for charging will change to measured as a consequence of a change of occupation.
Now the only thing that's changing is ownership so will I still be able to get unmetered charges or will they use this purchase as reason to change it with me having no say?
TIA for any advice

What answer have you been given by AW?
The Water Act empowers water companies to change the basis of charging from Rateable Value to metered on change of occupant.
i.e. not owner.
However as I understand it, in your case there won't be a change of occupant.0 -

Yep that's what they confirmed above! They also told me based on the readings they have been taking against my current usage then I'd be paying more through a meter so am better off staying unmeasured by £150 a year!
One less panic but thank you for replying0
