Thames Water price increase
We were paying £ 19 a month for 2 people in a 3 bed house.
TW puts my bill up to £25 a month without telling me. That’s almost a third
price increase ! No extra people in the house no extra wate being used. I had
to find this out by casually looking at our bank statement online. So I rang them up & they were surprised I…

New build sewerage charges
We live on a Taylor Wimpey site in Devon. We've been paying for sewerage since we moved in in 2017 but it now turns out some residents are not being charged. One resident has been told that there will be no charge until the site is finished. Is this true? Clearly some people are saving 100's of pounds.

Manual wash or Dishwasher? Here's a money saving tip to use less water manually.
Added a poll just for curiosity's sake. Personally I don't understand why the average homeowner needs a dishwasher. You're using electricity to heat up water as well as water from your mains so you essentially have a secondary boiler in your house specifically for washing dishes that don't always do a great job at actually…

Liability for Surprise Bills?
Hi all, Three years ago we moved into a new flat. At the time we were told that we had to pay for cold water through a certain company, and that boiler costs were a part of the service charge. However, we recently found out that there is a second company who charges us for hot water, even though they have never got in…

Thames water wrong bill
We have had normal usage of water in our house for 4 years.Suddenly I saw a bill from TW 3 times more than expected and that too based on actual reading. I kept on asking TW to check for any leakage but they didn't send anyone for months. Looks like meter reader wasn't able to locate the water meter as I have moved the…

Watersure ending question
Hi, I have two questions about my watersure and am wondering if anyone here can help me. I have 4 children so was receiving watersure due to have 3+ children under 18 in the house. Ds1 is 19 and Ds2 turns 18 in 2wks. This means only 2 will be under 18, so I am no longer entitled to the watersure scheme. So question one is,…

Huge Thames water bill due to leak - only since meter fitted
Both myself and a friend have been hit with huge thanks water bills since we were made to have a water meter fitted. Thames water are asking for bills upwards of £800 per quarter on both properties. Where do we stand with this? In each case they are long term residents at each property. At no point had there been an issue…

After some advice please. There are 4 houses supplied from one stopcock on the street, 3 are privately owned and one is a council tennant. We are one of the private ones. Low water pressure for the last week, and a plumber has pretty much narrowed the leak down to the council owned property. Problem is the particular…

Abnormally high water bill - Thames Water.
I have received an abnormally high water bill from Thames Water. It is a 1 bed rented flat, 2 occupants, we are pretty careful with water and even have one of their water saving shower heads (as I do like a freebie of course). We only take showers and do 2 loads of laundry per week. CCW water calculator estimates we would…

Lockdown additional use? or a leak? - 10% extra used.
Good Morning We've just had our annual water bill land on the doormat, and this year it says that we have used 78m3. Just 2 adults. On checking against our recent annual usages, this has been very steady over the years and has been 71, 69, 67, 67 over the last 4 years. Obviously this year we've been here nearly all the…

In some Direct Debit over many payments over few are…
