Help please in selecting a bond fund?
I have neither the time nor knowledge to buy individual UK/USA bonds, wish I did as it seems a fascinating area. So I'm looking for a safe fund which deals with these investments, I'm not looking for funds which reach for the stars in the matter of returns, just a safe fund which gives a reasonable return, and provides…

They use a company called credit karma, I logged on and I'm all ok there? Atom can't say why there is a problem and are investigating. Anyone else experiencing this?

The 4% rule
My
understanding of the 4% rule is that an inflation adjusted 4% withdrawal each year should – with
a 60/40 equity/bond portfolio? – last 30 years. Is that correct? Does anyone know of an open source spreadsheet where you can enter different rates of investment return/inflation/withdrawals to test scenarios?

Buying premium bonds for an adult
NS&I have just bounced my application to buy premium bonds for someone as a gift. I thought they might, but it seems odd that I can instantly transfer money to their bank account but can't buy them this savings product. I wanted it to be a surprise gift. Does anyone know why this is?

Bed & ISA prevents CGT ?
Just watched this YouTube video https://youtu.be/eKQs3KVfaL0 unless I misunderstood the guy, I think he was suggesting that if you sold shares in a GIA and bought the exact same type back in an ISA within 30 days, then gains that would normally attract CGT would be avoided.. this is not what I’d previously understood but…

Have any SIPP/ISA Platforms Gone Bust - if so what happened
Hi,I was wondering about safety of funds and investments help in some the various platforms. As I understand it these are protected only up to the £85K limit, but I'm not sure whether that applies to the account on the platform, or to underlying assets or what. £85K is high for an ISA but not for a pension which would…

Court Rules that London Capital and Finance (LCF) was a Ponzi Scam
I've not seen any mention of this verdict on the forum. I know the previous post was deleted because the case was ongoing but as the judgement has now been made I assume it is ok to post. I think many of us will feel vindicated that what we thought 8 years ago and warned those asking questions here has now been proved…

Temporary high balance - would lump sum settlement from insurers count?
