Reducing train costs
I go to Uni in Greenwich and commute from Greenhithe. From September to February I caught the train which was £40/week or £150/month depending on my schedule (sometimes have reading week so weekly tickets are cheaper). I commuted by bicycle in March, saving myself around £130, which was great but I'm a fair weather cyclist…

My child is attending the local college which is more than 10 miles away from home. I travel in the same direction for work so they have tagged along for the journey. Oyster and 16-25 Railcard
Nephew bought an Oyster card and with the help of a very helpful TfL guy 'loaded' his 16 - 25 railcard onto the Oyster on a machine at the station. He's set up an oyster online account but nowhere on the account can he see anything that says his 16-25 is there? Are we missing something - how do we confirm the 16-25 is…

Would you report this close pass?
I was just wondering, if you were the cyclist in this video, would you report the dangerously close pass approximately 27 seconds in? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdpz_hsQxEI The Vauxhall Vivaro van has a completely empty overtaking lane, yet drives at speed, so close to the cyclist that it's sheer luck that he wasn't…

Can you use pensioners concessionary pass on X buses?
I can only find reference to the word 'local' in relation to the concessionary scheme. I wondered if my bus pass can be used to go on longer journeys on limited stop buses in different parts of the country which usually have an X prefix eg from Middlesbrough to Newcastle

New bike advice
I'm looking for a practical hybrid bike with full mudguards, rear pannier rack, lights, no suspension and a bit sporty. I've looked at the Giant Rapid (sorry can't post links yet) I'd need full mudguards and a rear pannier rack. Do their hybrids lend themselves to fitting these? Also the Canyon Commuter (impressive looking…

Storing bike at train station
Is it viable to store a bike long term at a train station? I see that there is an incredible number of bikes locked up at stations so I guess some people must be doing this. I'm thinking King's Cross or Euston. For a number of reasons it would suit me better to do this than keep it at home. Thanks.

Train delay refund, Virgin getting difficult...
Can anyone help? On the 28/1/16 I got on a Virgin service from Haymarket to Euston. The train got severely delayed in Carlisle. I have attempted to contact Virgin for a refund, but all I get back from them is that there wasn't a 14.00 service from that Station. It probably departed from Glasgow or whatever. I've no idea…
