Please advise a country bumpkin on train travel from Hemel Hempstead to London :)

Morning all


Family of 4 - two kids under 14. We're going away for a few days to Kings Langley and going to be doing the Harry Potter-thing in Leavesden and hoping to get the train in to London for the day after.


Hoping to travel into London off-peak on the £40ish family travel card. Does anyone know if this is available to buy at Kings Langley station or is it better to travel from Hemel Hempstead or Watford Junction? Also, how is the car parking situation at both of these stations? Are they permanently packed or likely to have space after 9am?

You can buy the Family Travelcard fare from Kings Langley, either from the ticket office or a machine.

With a Family Railcard it's £17 per adult/£1 per child.
