New bike advice
I'm looking for a practical hybrid bike with full mudguards, rear pannier rack, lights, no suspension and a bit sporty. I've looked at the Giant Rapid (sorry can't post links yet) I'd need full mudguards and a rear pannier rack. Do their hybrids lend themselves to fitting these? Also the Canyon Commuter (impressive looking…

Storing bike at train station
Is it viable to store a bike long term at a train station? I see that there is an incredible number of bikes locked up at stations so I guess some people must be doing this. I'm thinking King's Cross or Euston. For a number of reasons it would suit me better to do this than keep it at home. Thanks.

Train delay refund, Virgin getting difficult...
Can anyone help? On the 28/1/16 I got on a Virgin service from Haymarket to Euston. The train got severely delayed in Carlisle. I have attempted to contact Virgin for a refund, but all I get back from them is that there wasn't a 14.00 service from that Station. It probably departed from Glasgow or whatever. I've no idea…

TFL fine from over 1 year ago with no contact
I recently received a £200 fine notification on my payslip with no explanation. When I asked my manager she had to ask payroll to find the reason. Apparently the company was instructed to garnish my wages which she had not been told about. So the company has taken £200 without any prior notification to me, just a deduction…

Electric bikes?
For the past couple of years I've been commuting to work by train, but they've recently built a new station on my connecting line and soon most of the trains will no longer stop at my station which will mean a long wait. The other option is to take a single train, disembark at an earlier station, then it's about a 40…

New flat MTB pedals (with reflectors)
I have a half-decent mountain bike that I use both on- and off-road (mostly on the road, these days). I look after it, and it's definitely been worth upgrading the drivetrain, shifters, tyres, saddle, etc. When I bought it, I got cheapo flat metal commuter pedals, which have been okay. But I don't have anything to compare…

Cheapest way of using the Tube this Sunday.
I'm quite confused about the most cost effective way of using the tube on Sunday when we go down to London for a concert. I have a senior railcard, although my husband doesn't. We are literally only going from Euston to Gloucester Road station and back again. I don't go to London that often so haven't bothered with an…

Annual season ticket 'refund' advice
I currently have two season tickets: a London Zones 1-6 season ticket loaded on an Oyster card, and a separate Southeastern paper ticket covering between my home station and the Zone 6 boundary. It was cheaper to buy the ticket in two parts rather than combined. Both tickets commenced from the same date in early November…

National Express Price Increase
Has anyone noticed the extortionate price increase with National Express. My in laws, who have senior coach cards, travelled from Darlington to Plymouth in December for £98. I've just looked at the price for them to travel in April & have had various prices from £174 to £230. National Express are trying to justify the…

Help for my day in London.
Can anybody please give me advice on the easiest way to get to Hatton Garden on the tube? I can arrive at Victoria or Charing Cross, which ever gives me the better options to get to my destination. The least faffing about on the tube the better. C

Muddyfox brake lever issue.
Hello. I bought a Muddyfox Energy 26 bike in Jan 2016 and it has been working ok until last week. I went use the back brake and the lever was loose moving up and down and not like it should do. I looked and it and noticed the return spring was showing and when i looked at the pivot bolt the locking nut was missing. I took…

South West Trains Refund
Hello, Just got compensation through for South West Trains on my season ticket. £136. However, my circumstances are a little different and despite asking a question on here a year ago, I didn't get a response. So I thought I'd share in case anyone else out there fancies trying it. I live in New Malden (Zone 4) which is a…

Bike Purchase
I'm thinking of buying a bike but am a bit stumped by all the options. Basically what I want is a quality build for occasional trips of about forty to eighty miles. I'd like it to be for touring, not racing, and I'd rather have reliability than spiffing gadgets and technology like disc brakes (unless they're better than…
