Changing zones on annual tube travelcard

I currently live in London zone 2 and paid £1,320 for an annual zones 1-2 travelcard that runs from 5/1/17 until 4/1/18.
I did this because work runs one of those season ticket loan schemes so I could take advantage of the cheaper rate of buying a yearly pass rather than splashing out on individual monthly tickets out of my own wages. I repay this loan, interest free, over the year, and I never actually see the money, work just take it out of my wages.
In a few weeks time I'm moving to zone 3.
Adding a zone 3 only travelcard to my oyster for the remainder of the year would cost me in the region of £400. However looking on the TFL website, zone 1-3 is only around £22 per month more expensive than zones 1-2.
Is there any way I can just pay the difference rather than having to pay £400 extra?

Did you buy the ticket yourself or through a 3rd party scheme (e.g. Abellio?)?
If you want to change your zones, the TfL helpline can do this - call 0343 222 1234.

Alternatively, if you can get a bus from your new home to a zone 2 station, this would be covered by a Zones 1-2 and you don't need to upgrade.0 -

Bought it myself. Work gave me the loan in cash.
I've considered the bus idea but it would be a bit of a faff, if possible I'd rather just upgrade the travelcard.0 -

You could just try using pay as you go for the zone 3 bit and see how much you end up paying per week. I have an annual for zones 1-3. Sometimes I have to go into zone 4 and it takes an extra £1 each time (off peak). It would be more during peak hours.0 -
phone TfL and ask. Worst case they will refund pro-rata on your current ticket and you need to buy a new one.You could just try using pay as you go for the zone 3 bit and see how much you end up paying per week. This would be £1 per journey, so would add £2 per day. Getting a new ticket will almost certainly be cheaper.0
