That site is Kool, book from
Manc Piccadilly to Edinburgh £120 ish
    Or book from
Manc Viccy to Ed £90 with 1 change at Manc Piccadilly then straight to ED.
the best bit is you make your own way to Piccadilly from Viccy train stn so by walking a mile you save £30 ish

What are the details of the journey, if you don't mind me asking?

The origin on the ticket will be "Manchester Stns" (or "Manchester Cltz" in the case of local fares) regardless of whether or not the journey commences with a walk.

Ive Booked the train to start at Manchester victoria and end at Edinburgh
We can pick the tickets up at Manchester Piccadilly as an option.
So we now can get the metrolink straight to Piccadilly stn.
My son is getting the tickets next week i think when he is in town but maybe from viccy as that is easier for him next week or it will be on the day from piccadilly.
Will let you know whats on the tickets.

If the train is from Piccadilly, then selecting Victoria shouldn't make it any cheaper, but without knowing what journey to search for exactly, it's difficult to understand what's going on.

If the ticket has Manchester CTLZ on they will be able to use the metro link to get between Victoria and Piccadilly.

But if it says Manchester STNS they will have to via salford crescent or salford to get to Piccadilly or even change at Wigan.

” If the ticket has Manchester CTLZ on they will be able to use the metro link to get between Victoria and Piccadilly"
This would make no difference to us as the price on the Met would be the same from where we live.but obn the booking form it does say
    " Manc Stns To Edinburgh"
and return it is edin. to wigan then wigan to Salford to Viccy
the train leaves Piccadilly and direct to Edinburgh

every time I have booked tickets to Glasgow and now Edinburgh I always play about changing the Manc stns as Viccy usually is more expensive you can check it on train line, virgin and the above site

When I look there the same price whether you travel from Victoria or Piccadilly for a standard return.
