TFL penalty charge
Hi everyone I would be grateful if somebody can help us to appeal a PCN issued to my wife and daughter today (Sunday). There was a replacement bus service between Chelmsford and Ingatestone, so my wife an daughter took the replacement bus service and tapped from Shenfield (barriers were open at Ingatestone). They then took…

Delay repay - off peak ticket
Hi guys I had an off peak return from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street. I could go any route permitted. I reserved a seat on the 11:43, which was on time, but since I had an off peak return for that day, I ended up getting the 12:43, which was over 20 minutes late. I have put in a claim for delay repay, since the…

Notice Of Intention To Prosecute from Thameslink
Hi all Hope this is in the correct part of the forum - if there is a better place, please say. On 5 Nov I received the above-mentioned letter, dated 4 Nov, following my being stopped at Kings Cross on the morning of 2 Sep without a ticket. It informed me of their intention to take the matter to a Magistrates' Court and…

Train advice on getting to Gerrards Cross please.
My BIL had a stroke 3 years back and another one nearly 1 year ago and the bleed was in same place as the 1st one so has had an op to repair/ strengthen the vessel. The op was done at Queen's Square hospital London and he was told that MRI scans were needed twice a year to see if op worked. He got a date for this for…

TfL - the 2 for 2 bus fare policy on certain off peak hours
Hi all, I heard it was mentioned about an upcoming 2 for 2 london bus off peak fare, where after the first one hour 'Hopper' fare of £1.75, the cost of any journey in the second off peak hour is only 25p, making for two pounds in the first two off peak hours? Does anyone know when this is happening, or when this comes into…

Railcard changes
Morning all, Just to let you all know, there have been some changes in the terms and conditions of using a rail card. It's not valid for all the tickets used to be. It seems to be those round 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM that are affected.

Delay Repay: Cancelled, so took an earlier train?
My intended train was cancelled because of infrastructure problems. An alternate valid train was about to leave when I realised this at the station, so I hopped on it. But had I not been so lucky, I would've been delayed nearly 50 minutes. I will have scanned my tickets at both the departure and arrival station. Is my…

East Midlands Railway delay repay
Hi After a terrible day yesterday travelling on EMR I now find their delay repay form isn’t working. Supposed to select stations from a drop down list but it’s not there. Do you think it’s crashed, as most of the line was a shambles yesterday including bus replacement drivers not able to leave on scheduled time due to…

Delay on an earlier train. Can I claim?
My original train was ticketed to leave Euston at 15:50, but I was early enough to be able to get on the 13:50 instead. The 13:50 ended up running 20 minutes late so technically I was delayed even though I arrived at my destination earlier than planned. Am I able to claim as the train I was on was delayed?

Rail cards going up
All except the disabled card are going up in March by £5 Not surprised really but with train fares up too higher than inflation.

£2 bus fares going up to £3
Amidst all the budget speculation about pensions and national insurance, this seems to have slipped under the MSE radar. The Prime Minister has said the current subsidised £2 bus fares will increase to £3. 50% is quite a hike, but I don't think the scheme was ever intended to last as long as it has. Not sure if any bus…

Senior railcard - is this age discrimination?
I bought a senior railcard for myself and an 18-25 railcard for my daughter - same time . Same price each. But is this discrimination? For me to buy a return to London during peak time I get no discount on a return ticket using my senior railcard, paying £36.20 - if I buy 2 singles I can get the cost down to £33.20. Yet my…

Thameslink Flexi Season Ticket- Key smart card
My Wife has just started a new job and is commuting to London Bridge from St Neots 3 days per week. the Flexi Season Ticket gives slightly better costs than buying a daily ticket. You buy a bundle of 8 journeys to use in any 28 day period. To buy the ticket, she had to buy and register a Key Card, which she uses to…

Issues obtaining refund from Uber
My daughter recently had a recent Uber journey which she was overcharged for (essentially the journey was extended to a location 20+ miles away after she had got out of the car). She queried this and Uber agreed to refund. Since then (2 months+) no money has been received and she has contacted Uber and her bank for…

Extending Battery Life of Bicycle Batteries
So, just ordered a new battery for my bike, but not sure what to do for optimal longevity of the batteries life. It is a 36v/19ah battery from cyclotricity, which I assume is lithium ion. When I bought the last one they told me to completely run down the battery before recharging to extend it's life (as in fewer…

LNER cashback
LNER has always been a good company to book train tickets through, because they always seem to have cashback offers on various debit and credit cards. And it works even if it's not an LNER service that you want. But I'm trying to book now and I just get an error message "Something’s gone wrongWe seem to be having a slight…
