Can anyone recommend a helmet camera?
Hi, I'm specifically after a helmet cam for road cycling. It won't be used to create content as such, it's more for my own protection and to report close passes. I tried a Go Pro imitation thing but it was really bulky and ugly. Looking for something way more discrete. Any ideas?

Fares on the bus from Slough to Heathrow
Does anyone know (i) the fare to get from Slough to Heathrow Airport on the bus A4 or 7; (ii) whether or not the pensioner's concession card gives free travel on these services. Before anyone advises me to look on-line, this information is not given on the First (Berkshire) web site: so annoying!

Busy bus and Wheelchair passenger
A couple of anxious wheelchair passenger questions from me.. What happens/ should happen if a bus already has a wheelchair/ scooter passenger on board? What happens if the bus is too busy to get to the wheelchair space, but can take other ambulatory passengers? I use a wheelchair and have been growing in confidence using…

Money Moral Dilemma: Should I keep the delay compensation I got for the train ticket I expensed?
This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks... I travelled to a meeting of an organisation I'm a member of by train, and I'm entitled to claim the cost of my fare on expenses. The train on the way there was delayed by 15 minutes so I made a Delay Repay claim and received £9 compensation. Once the expense is processed,…

Euro Star compensation
Hi we recently had a really bad experience with the euro star Our outbound journey we was told that our cabin's aircon was not working. The desk person said not too worry it will not be too hot and free water will be handed out and you will also get 1/4 of your ticket refunded. So we went ahead and still travelled, the…

Stolen and Lost Oystercards and claiming credit
I discovered that I'd lost my Oystercard or had it stolen this afternoon. This has a few pounds of pay as you go credit on it, and before anyone asks why I don't just use debit or credit cards or my phone - because I don't want to have to wait at the bus stop with a debit card or phone in my hand or fumble around for such…

Ticket enforcement
It's cheaper to travel from Manchester Piccadilly to Delamere, than from Altrincham to Delamere, despite the Altrincham journey being shorter! The difference is £6. With an advance single. If I buy a ticket from Manchester Piccadilly (ie paying for all my journey, and more!), but get on the train at Altrincham, do you…

Stupid 'inner tube' Q re size.
Hi all on the cycling forum that I didn't know existed. I have a new, second-hand, bike, and upsizing the scary-skinny 28's - that's width and not dia - to a far more sensible 47. Got the tyres, and looking for tubes for best fit. Tyres are 700-47; am I best to go for tube sizes to suit these that have the '47' as…

Confused with rail delay claim ThamesLink
Hi, Can anyone advise please on what to claim from ThamesLink for a delay of just under 2 hours please? I purchased 2 return tickets for myself and my husband using a 2 together rail card - the return journey from London to Cambridge was the part of the journey that was delayed. I paid £31.05 by Paypal for this leg of the…

Recommend helmet cam for horse rider
There's no forum section for me but I thought cyclists could help I often get bothered by out of control dogs and actually got attacked last week and the owner just gave me abuse, never even asked if my horse was OK (thankfully he was). Reported to police, they found the dog owner and 'spoke with him' but with no evidence…

Train travel by any permitted route
The terms for a train ticket I am intending to buy state that it is valid via any permitted route, which is a fat lot of use - they need to tell me what is permitted, not just say that you can do what we permit. Is there a website I can use to determine what is permitted and what isn't? You would think it would be possible…

Can I claim Delay Repay compensation for both of my affected tickets separately?
A broken rail caused some chaos for the trains on Tuesday evening. I ended up waiting, then having to take a circuitous route home. What's interesting is that I had booked the journey as two separate tickets; return from A to B, and a separate return from B to C. The return journey from C to B was 78 minutes late, but due…

Northern Rail “duo” ticket.
So, the other day I went on the Northern Rail website, and did a return booking for two people. It was for Manchester to Southport, and in the box filling exercise, it offered a “duo” ticket. Amongst the rules laid out, it stated that the two people must travel together. The saving against two single return tickets was…

Claiming mileage in lieu of a cancelled train.
During the week, I bought a return ticket from Weymouth to Winchester.
The return journey did not happen due to a lineside fire that knocked out signalling
(I believe). All the boards were showing delayed or cancelled service. The announcement on the PA at Winchester was to take the
next train to Eastleigh and alight…

Using freedom pass beyond zone 6
Sometimes I do a journey beyond zone 6. The ticket office can issue a ticket from boundary zone 6 but often is not open. Neither the machine nor the online system can cope with boundary zone 6 so I worked out the last station in zone 6 and have been buying a ticket from that station to my destination. recently a friend…
