Configuration of private hire vehicles
I’m sure one of you clever people will have the answer to this we are in discussions with a company about their mpv / people carrier vehicles and they are telling me that conference seating ie knee to knee instead of front facing, common is private hire licensing is managed at local council level who decide which vehicle…

GWR Train Fares
Hi, Has anyone else experienced a massive price hike from GWR recently that's way above the advertise 4.9% in the press? I would often travel return from Plymouth To London for around £79. I am currently being quoted for the same departure and return times on a Monday £109.50. If I am to travel on any other day than Monday…

I have train tickets booked to travel with GWR from Worcester to London Paddington on Saturday 6th April returning on Sunday 7th. At the time of writing there is to be a strike on GWR trains on the Saturday (but I assume some sort of service on the Sunday for the return). Am I able to use my Outwards ticket on other…

Senior railcard validity
Have gone all through the railcard site and can’t find the answer to this. Can the senior railcard be used on the ‘valid until’ date itself? My current one says valid until 21st March, I’ve not yet got a new one and want to travel on 21st.

Stop this attempt to abolish flexible & affordable rail tickets in the UK.
Currently LNER (which operates trains on the London/Edinburgh route) is undertaking a "pilot scheme" which they are trying to portray as a "simplification of fares". However, they are trying to abolish something which has been a fundamental feature of UK rail travel for decades - the "off-peak" ticket. This is a ticket…

There's a Trip.com offer on the site for discounted railcards but it seems the price is in US dollars when you click through? Surely there will be an exchange rate charge if I try to use this?

Automated stupidity of Delay/Repay
I've submitted delay/repay claims for my wife and myself several times without any trouble. Just following the prompts and uploading both tickets. Last week we travelled on the same delayed train but boarded at different stations. When I submitted the tickets I got a message back saying one claim had been rejected as I…

Refund when return train cancelled?
We bought return train tickets to visit my folks over Christmas (they were actually returns and not two singles). The journey there went smoothly but our return train was cancelled, as was the next train and most other trains showing on the board. We would have had to wait over an hour for a not-cancelled train, and the…

£1.75 flat fares for London buses that cross into the Home Counties
I can't find anything about this on the tfl site. I want to go from Zone 3 to the most northwesterly part of Borehamwood (Rossington Avenue), which is maybe a mile inside Hertfordshire. As I'll be tapping on via debit card, I can't see how the system would know you've crossed the boundary as you don't tap off. But what…

Looking for Electric Bike
Hi everyone. My father is turning 60 next month. I'm looking for a quality electric bike for him. It will be mostly used for pleasure. He likes medium/long-distance cycle rides but sadly he can't do it anymore riding a normal bike. I have heard of a few brands but before I want to ask for recommendations. Thanks.

DelayRepay for cancellations on Strike days.
I was unable to travel with GWR between Taunton and London on the 5th Feb 2024 because of the strike, so I travelled on the 6th. On that day I submitted a delayrepay claim for the journey booked for the 5th and stated a delay of 2 hours plus. Today I heard that the claim has been approved and I am to receive a refund equal…

Ownership of a footpath/bridleway/cycleway
I have been trying to find out who owns a local path which for the majority of time is very poorly maintained. The path is very close to the boundary of two local council authorities. Both authorities deny responsibility for the path and will not give a clear answer to my question of who actually does own it. Surprisingly…

Delay Repay - change of train two different TOCs
How does that work? OK, say you buy the ticket from trainline - return for £100. First train (TOC1) is fine, connecting train (TOC2) is cancelled. End up getting train operated by TOC3 and arrive at destination over an hour later than originally planned. Who to claim off? TOC2? Also, assume it would only be a percentage of…
