Delay Repay newcomer

Hi
My return home from Liverpool Lime St to Thorne South was delayed yesterday by more than 15 minutes and they (Trans Pennine) reminded everyone at every opportunity that compensation via Delay Repay could be claimed
When I reached Doncaster I had to change to Northern Rail but of course my connection had long gone and there was not another for 2 hours but I managed to catch a train for Thorne North which left us with a 30 minute walk with our luggage (no Taxis no Buses)
So my questions are please .... I bought the 2 Return tickets from Northern Rails Site though only Leg 1 outgoing and leg 4 was operated by them so who do I claim the Delay Repay from pls
My second question is how many minutes should I claim for . The train to Doncaster arrived 20 minutes late and I arrived home at 18.52 instead of 18.10 due to using a later train
My third question for anyone still awake (lol) is how do I upload the details of my tickets please. Im a complete duffer and have tried to upload the Ticket details Northern sent to me and failed. In fact Ive spent way longer trying than the Delay I am probably going to try for .
Many thanks for any held - particularly the tech part

It makes no difference where your bought the tickets. Delay Repay is always claimed from the operator of the first train that caused you to be delayed.
It depends on the operator but with some claims you don't need to work out how much you are claiming - you just put in the details of the train you intended to catch and the system works it out.
However as you travelled to a different station, this may be too complex for the online claim form and it might need to be explained to customer services.Official MSE Forum Team member. Please report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com1 -
You claim from the company causing the delay - TPE for the total delay in rail service (you can't claim the delay due to the walk home). You will need the services you were planning to take and the times of the actual services you took to calculate the delay.
You need no contact with Northern.
