Avanti. My ‘lost’ booking

Any suggestions as to what I can do, please?
I booked a first class Avanti ticket on 14th September, online, direct with Avanti. I was booking quite a few things at time and didn’t notice that no email had been received. Payment was taken by Avanti Web Sales on 16th Sept.
Just checking today, couldn’t find email. Went to log into Avanti account and it didn’t accept my details. Nor would it let me register for an account using my usual email address; it rejects my email as not valid.
Spoken with live chat he confirmed payment details were Avanti’s, not a 3rd party, but he said my booking can only be retrieved with email address or booking reference. The system’s not acknowledging my email address and I have no booking ref. He tried my other email address (which is linked to my email inbox anyway) and my work one which I know I wouldn’t have used and no success.
He concluded I’d entered a typo (twice) when entering my email address. I’ve tried to log into my account using the obvious typos with no success. I’m a bit stuck. 😔

Second time around, I have managed to speak to a much more proactive agent who has resolved it for me. Hyphen in the wrong place in my email address. Panic over.3
