TfL contactless refund
I submitted two claims fir refunds via TfL’s contactless website before Xmas. I’ve had no response or acknowledgment. Given that their systems have been hacked and the contactless page was only restored a day or two before I made my claims, should I assume the claims didn’t go through and resubmit? Or do they not routinely…

Compensation for two canceled Northern trains and a more expensive TFW service.
OK I'm rather angry at the moment so excuse me if this comes off as ranty. Yesterday I bought a ticket to get me from Chester to Manchester Picadilly this morning, the ticket was £6.50. Northern canceled the train at short notice (notified via email at 1:47AM). The staff at the station checked for me and confirmed my…

Uber App Payment
As I am reluctant to furnish bank details to Uber, I would still like to use it. I have been told that they won't accept prepaid cards like Clubcard Pay+ or Revolut. I thought about using Uber gift card to furnish a balance but I cannot get an answer for their Customer Support. Does anyone know/use any method of prepayment…

Avanti train strikes
We have a visitor travelling from Paris to London on Eurostar and was hoping to get train London to Manchester. Unfortunately it is on the evening of 29th December and it is a strike day. Has anyone any suggestions how she can get up to Manchester (or nearby) on evening of 29th. Preferably a different train company. Thank…

Tube service delay refunds for contactless - journeys more than 28 days ago (when system was down)
Hi all, I have a few tube journeys made via contactless more than 28 days ago that are eligible for service delay refunds (the journeys were delayed by more than 15 minutes). There is a 28 day time limit for making such refund requests, however I've been unable to do so since the contactless system has been down for such a…

Cycle to Work Scheme gone wrong!
Hi all, Newbie here, so just going to get stuck in. Short version: 1 x halfords faulty bike 1 x disappeared bike 3 x letter of collection and no refund. Long version: My partner purchased a brand-new Electric Carrera Impel bike from Halfords Mile End store in Sept 2023 using the Cycle to Work Scheme. The bike cost £1099.…

How do Contactless users submit delay repay claims without TfL journey history on TfL website?
This is part question part rant because TfL website has been down for almost 2 months now so people using Contactless are unable to access their journey history to submit delay repay claims with train companies, apply for journey refunds etc. Has anyone had any luck with claiming without TfL journey history evidence or do…

Delay Repay Serially Underestimated, Same Journey
Hi, I use a Flexi ticket for my journeys. The train is frequently delayed or cancelled, and I frequently get to claim 15min, all the way UK to 2hr+ delays -- usually 25-50% of the time. My issue is that great northern serially underestimate the repayment, maybe 25-50% of the time that I file the delay repay claim.…

TFL penalty charge
Hi everyone I would be grateful if somebody can help us to appeal a PCN issued to my wife and daughter today (Sunday). There was a replacement bus service between Chelmsford and Ingatestone, so my wife an daughter took the replacement bus service and tapped from Shenfield (barriers were open at Ingatestone). They then took…

Delay repay - off peak ticket
Hi guys I had an off peak return from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street. I could go any route permitted. I reserved a seat on the 11:43, which was on time, but since I had an off peak return for that day, I ended up getting the 12:43, which was over 20 minutes late. I have put in a claim for delay repay, since the…

Notice Of Intention To Prosecute from Thameslink
Hi all Hope this is in the correct part of the forum - if there is a better place, please say. On 5 Nov I received the above-mentioned letter, dated 4 Nov, following my being stopped at Kings Cross on the morning of 2 Sep without a ticket. It informed me of their intention to take the matter to a Magistrates' Court and…

Train advice on getting to Gerrards Cross please.
My BIL had a stroke 3 years back and another one nearly 1 year ago and the bleed was in same place as the 1st one so has had an op to repair/ strengthen the vessel. The op was done at Queen's Square hospital London and he was told that MRI scans were needed twice a year to see if op worked. He got a date for this for…

TfL - the 2 for 2 bus fare policy on certain off peak hours
Hi all, I heard it was mentioned about an upcoming 2 for 2 london bus off peak fare, where after the first one hour 'Hopper' fare of £1.75, the cost of any journey in the second off peak hour is only 25p, making for two pounds in the first two off peak hours? Does anyone know when this is happening, or when this comes into…

Railcard changes
Morning all, Just to let you all know, there have been some changes in the terms and conditions of using a rail card. It's not valid for all the tickets used to be. It seems to be those round 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM that are affected.

Delay Repay: Cancelled, so took an earlier train?
My intended train was cancelled because of infrastructure problems. An alternate valid train was about to leave when I realised this at the station, so I hopped on it. But had I not been so lucky, I would've been delayed nearly 50 minutes. I will have scanned my tickets at both the departure and arrival station. Is my…

East Midlands Railway delay repay
Hi After a terrible day yesterday travelling on EMR I now find their delay repay form isn’t working. Supposed to select stations from a drop down list but it’s not there. Do you think it’s crashed, as most of the line was a shambles yesterday including bus replacement drivers not able to leave on scheduled time due to…

Delay on an earlier train. Can I claim?
My original train was ticketed to leave Euston at 15:50, but I was early enough to be able to get on the 13:50 instead. The 13:50 ended up running 20 minutes late so technically I was delayed even though I arrived at my destination earlier than planned. Am I able to claim as the train I was on was delayed?

Rail cards going up

£2 bus fares going up to £3
Amidst all the budget speculation about pensions and national insurance, this seems to have slipped under the MSE radar. The Prime Minister has said the current subsidised £2 bus fares will increase to £3. 50% is quite a hike, but I don't think the scheme was ever intended to last as long as it has. Not sure if any bus…
