Trainpal v Trainline

Noticed this MSE discount on a Two Together railcard, which we are about to get.
It mentions
"Note: The railcard can only be accessed via the TrainPal or Trip.com app (depending on which site you purchase from). You can't transfer it to the official Railcard app after purchasing."
Is it right to assume that railcard could potentially be used when buying tickets via trainline (or any other purchase method), it is just that the card would be 'attached' to the Trainpal app?
(presumably you could also take a screenshot of it, in case the app broke!!)

Trainline and the train operator's ticket websites (at least the two I've used recently GNER and ScotRail) don't want to know anything about your Railcard, you just have to declare which one you've got.
Policing that the discount has been legitimately claimed is down to the on-train inspectors.1 -
Trainline charge a fee which you can avoid by buying tickets from rail companies such as GWR or LNER or some other sites. With rail company sites you can buy tickets to travel anywhere, not just on their services, so choose one where you like their website layout.0
