stagecoach bus prices in Scotland

After yet another price hike l was looking at bus route prices in the stagecoach app. What I've discovered is that from my bus stop I can only buy a daily rover for £10 to take the 15 minute journey to the main town. However, if I were to pick up the same bus 7 miles back ( in the next town) I can get a return for £8.10.
My question is, can I buy an online ticket for the journey from the town that is further away (but cheaper), or do I have to get the £10 rover? Looking at the stagecoach app they talk about getting the correct tickets for your route, but my stop is on the route.
I guess that they don't want to stop at my rural stop, but it seems unfair that it's cheaper if I got on earlier (it's still expensive).
I could get 10 rover tickets that are valid for a year for £70, but it's still an outrageous amount of money. It's no more than a 15 minute journey for goodness sake.
Any advice would be appreciated

Bus fares in Scotland are outrageously expensive (outside those places where the Local Authority continues to run the service).
Is this not like "hidden city ticketing" on airlines where you deliberately don't travel on a leg to save money? Yes you can (maybe) take advantage of a loophole quite legally, but the bus company are within their rights to not carry you if you haven't bought the ticket that they designate as "correct".0 -
Where are you actually travelling to/from?
In the Stagecoach app there is a journey you describe with the prices and timings you quoted (Munlochy to Inverness) which is in Day Rider zone 2 (£10). But the app says you can get a day return from the village for £6.30 so it's not cheaper to get a day return from Dingwall @ £8.10.

Thanks Glennevis,Unfortunately where I am along the A9 a return ticket is £10.80 to Inverness (I can't imagine they ever sell this ticket), but only £8.10 to Dingwall - where I can fulfil some of lifes essentials, but if I'm having a night out I do prefer Inverness! None of this pricing makes any sense to me.There is also no light at the bus stop, so we often have to try and make sure it sees us by frantic torch and high vis vest waving (which I'm sure is distracting to other drivers, so don't really feel comfortable about). Many a time the bus has driven straight pass the stop, noticing us too late to safely stop. Some of the drivers are very sympathetic and have actually told me to get a ticket for an earlier stop, but others are not so flexible, so it's a bit of a gamble.0
