Delay Repay Query

Morning
Just a general query for delay re-pay. I purchased an off peak ticket yesterday for say 12:30. However I decided to get an earlier train but the train I used was then delayed by about 20 minutes maybe a little more?
My query is I know delay re-pay kicks in after 15 minutes but because I choose to get a earlier train am I still eligible as my ticket was a off peak any time ticket?

Whilst most ticket-buying websites and apps force you to choose an itinerary when buying a ticket, if you buy a flexible ticket then you are not tied to that itinerary, and the itinerary shown in your booking makes no impact on your Delay Repay eligibility.
So long as your ticket was valid on the train you actually used, then you can claim DR if you were delayed by more than the threshold for that operator's DR scheme (usually 15 mins)
It's important to be precise (to the point of pedantry) about terminology here, as an "off peak any time" ticket is a contradiction in terms - there are tickets called 'Off Peak' and 'Anytime' - it can be one or the other but not both.Official MSE Forum Team member. Please report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi.
it was a off peak ticket and I complied by the times for this.0 -
As you had an any off peak service ticket, if the service you used was delayed you can claim DR.1
