Move from BT?
I'm on the basic BT package at the moment and wonder if it is worth moving to a different provider. Are there any cheaper deals out there? I think that line-rental is £11 a month on my package. I'm nervous about moving from BT as I like the telephone number that I have.

Business phone prices
I have subscribed to talk talk with broadband at home, but they are asking substantially more for a similar service at the business I am setting up. Does anyone know of good deals for phone lines with or without broadband for business?

Using VOIPcheap for international calls.
Having decided to pay our £11.60 for 120 day credits, I soon discovered that they have a system called New:web activated calls. It didn't take long to realise that using this application you can infact dial out from any number using the account. It rings the one number, you pick up your standard telephone (note not headset…

Trying to get from TT to Primus - very trying!
Like many of us, I switched to Primus when TalkTalk took over Just-Dial. I arranged this on April 4th and had confirmation of DD instruction etc. A couple of days later I'd a call to say they couldn't confirm my address, and could I please send a copy of a utility bill. I did that, and got an email confirming the service…

0870 revenge: what if they say no?
I've been using the excellent saynoto0870.com for a while now and, whilst for some companies it really does the trick, I've encountered a few brick walls, especially with banks. When my partner rings Alliance and Leicester on the freephone number, he's told to ring back on the 0870 number, with no exceptions. We've tried…

Outdated info in MSE international call checker.
The MSE call checker shows the cheapest rate to Poland: PhoneCheap 0.50p/min (08442002525). However, when you call that number it says that calls to Poland are 2p/min, and you should call different number. But on the phonecheap web page the number is also not updated: http://www.phonecheap.co.uk/rates.php I lost some money…

Onetel - line rental and outside calls
I have Onetel CPS (for free w/e calls) and rent line from BT. Onetel have called me and invited me to sign up for their cheaper line rental instead. They claim to be 10 percent cheaper than BT (which at the moment they are). But the pushy woman also said - and here correct me if this is wrong, please - that they had a…

Unwanted calls from 0018007060942 (leeds united shirt compo -> selling details?)
Once this number got through. My mum answered, there was a long pause before someone spoke, then some indian guy, obviously reading (very poorly) from a script, was telling my mum she had won a mobile phone. I have heard of this scam before so luckily I was there to take over the call tell them to get lost and I hung up.…

Cost of using BT (possibly other providers) could rise!
Ofcom have a consultation out titled Retail Price Control. This consultation proposes to remove the regulatory controls Ofcom has over BT. Right now all (or most) price changes BT does needs Ofcom approval but Ofcom want to remove most regulatory controls which basically would allow BT greater freedom in…
