Flat owner died - but no 'Class F' exemption?
Hello My mother died in December 2020. She had moved to a nursing home that March, and she let her flat to a tenant to help pay for her care. The tenant paid Council Tax on her flat after they moved in, but sadly the tenant also died and the tenancy ended in November 2021, leaving the flat empty. But there had still been…

Declined Council Tax appeals - where to next?
I bought my new build home in June 2020 and was put into Band E, the same as my next door neighbour's 4 bedroomed detached house which sold for £75,000 more than my house. I appealed this in October 2020 but this was declined as it was compared to properties built in the 1980's and 1990's. As I was only the 7th house on…

Hi, So we were about to pay the final bill for our extension, but then realised that the 5th of the 7 payments we made, included an overpayment of £20,000! RICS level 3 valuation suggests current band too high...
Can you kindly advise per experience if having a credible property valuation can be used to challenge current band. Valuation = £175k = c£43k in this area in Apr 91. This is lower band B. House is currently C. Haven't check neighbours - but even if theirs is higher wouldn't a professional valuation be strong(er) evidence?
