Thank you moneysaving expert - we’ve just received a payment for £5200 after successfully challenging our banding. 

We were in band F,  2 bedroomed house in an area where most of the houses are different to each other and  with some other 3 bedroomed houses nearby in band E. 

We had thought about a challenge before but were worried it might affect our neighbours- but finally decided to go ahead in July 22.

Didn’t hear anything for 5 months - until last week - when we had an email from the council asking us to phone re our banding.

We have been rebanded to E and refunded from 2008 when we moved in (14 years) and the council have contacted previous owners to refund them too. 

Thanks again - without your information we never would have known that we could challenge our council tax band.
