PCP Options
I have a car on PCP, 4 year agreement, and I’ve had it 14 months. Took on the car and size, large SUV to suit someone else, sadly they became housebound two months later and have barely been in the car. I find it way too big for my own needs, and keep kicking myself that I sold my almost smaller SUV which was on HP, and…

EV vehicle tax change – is it from first registered, or first registered in the UK?
I'm about to buy a used Nissan Leaf. It's an Irish import – I've got decent quotes for insurance, and the only oddity with the car is that the mileometer is actually in km (but the HUD shows mph), so largely not a concern. Except – EV vehicle tax is increasing from April, and it'll be £20/yr if registered 31 Mar 2017 or…

Advice on car purchase HP or PCP
I have put down a deposit on a new Kia car for my wife and I can pay the balance in three ways · Cash · HP ; or · PCP The latter (PCP) is the cheapest monthly amount as at the end of the 36 months I have a balloon payment of circa £20k to purchase the car outright. However, my concern with signing with a Kia PCP finance…

Moneybarn termination issues
I’ve recently been trying to look into the option of a voluntary termination on a vehicle financed through Moneybarn. Initially I emailed just to find out more and had somewhat of a strange response along the lines of “ we’ve never informed you of your options to exit, we need to speak to you on the phone” I’ve now called…

Cost of repair v value of car if no-fault
It seems to me that a car is deemed a write-off - albeit in various categories - by motor insurance, whether that of the at-fault or no-fault driver, if repair of the damage would cost more than the value of the car. I am trying to discover if this is universal and if so by what decree, so to speak? Is it also true of what…

Is there a good time of year to buy a car?
So I need to replace my bucket on wheels, and obviously want a good deal. With the new registration coming up next month, would waiting be a good idea? I guess it all depends on dealership targets ultimately, but does anyone know anything about them? I'm guessing the answer is that it doesn't really matter, but any advice…

Misled by car dealer?
We have just purchased a 22 plate Skoda Karoq. It was advertised as only having one key. We still purchased the car but presumed the only issue with the one key would be the risk if we lost that one. Having now bought the car we have discovered that we are unable to set ourselves up as the 'primary user' of the car on the…

SORN fine after vehicle was given to dealership to sell on consignment

Hello Earlier today my partner was in an RTC (no one injured thankfully), the other driver admitted liability to us and police. Our car has been written off.
