Grant for air heating pump
Hello all. This is my first post and I'm hoping you can help. I think I'm going to need a new boiler soon and have seen a lot of adverts offering government grants to change from GCH to air pump heating. Has anyone any experience of these grants or heating systems? Thank you 😊

Anyone on EON district heating: Meter use maybe faulty.
I absolutely hate being on district heating too many problems, my new problem I have noticed the meter reading goes up even when I'm not using any hot water or heating, I joined a Facebook group of my community and someone said they went away for 6 months and turned off the power and it was still recording usage and eon…

Incorrectly Billed by Scottish Power - what next?
Hi All, Hoping for some sensible advice/wisdom from the informed folks on here. We moved in to our current property 4 years ago now - it’s out in the sticks and only has electricity and a biomass central heating/hot water system. We pay for electricity via direct debit and I’d been submitting meter readings when requested…

Bulk LPG prices - do they tend to be seasonal?
We've been in our first house with no mains gas for a bit over 18 months now. We'll come out of our initial two-year LPG contract with Calor in early January. Know it's a way off, but I'm seeing what look like fairly low prices mentioned on here at the minute and I'm just wondering if there's any seasonality to bulk LPG…

Anyone with experience of replacing back boiler with combi?
Hi any advice or experience welcome. I'm in the process of buying a Victorian terraced house which I have found out has a back boiler in the chimney breast behind a gas fire. Can anyone explain to me how this works especially the hot water? Theres a water tank in a cupboard, do I need the gas fire on to get hot water? How…

Disputing Heating Initial Readingsg
Hello everyone. On the 01/03/21 we moved into a rental property flat at 11:00 in the morning. We signed our tenancy agreement and received keys at 10:40 the same day. We had no access to the property prior to that time. Our flat has central heating with an HIU unit with a smart meter. We finally received our first heating…

ALWAYS check with your current Supplier before switching energy.
MSE's Energy Comparison is very good & arguably the best available however their algorithm can't & doesn't allow for any "special" New Tariff your current Supplier may be offering. MSE's Comparison came up with some very cheap alternatives but when I checked with Avro, my current Supplier, their New Tariff if I stayed with…

BATA - LPG & possible blackmail!
Just moved into a house that is heated by LPG, this is new to me. Before i bought (March through to April 2021) i contacted BATA with questions in general about LPG and asked about pricing etc. They said the current price is 36.9ppl (37ppl to me) and a standing charge of £75 a year. They offered a regular top up service at…

Together Energy *Misc Chrges*
Anyone with Together Energy had a Misc charge added to their utilty bills? Had a big issue with them a while ago where as they claim they wern't charging me enough on my direct debit which led to my account being in debt by nearly £1,000. Partly my fault for not checking enough but I argued that they should've let me know.…

Stuck on an economy 7 meter
This post is going to make me sound like a total twonk but I'd really appreciate any insights anyone who has had experience of this kind of thing. Sorry it's a long story but I don't want to leave anything important out. I bought a new flat and moved in just 3 weeks before the first lockdown. I'd totally gutted and…

Changing Dual Energy supplier - any suggestions
I have been with Avro for a couple of years, and to be honest I would have been happy to stay when my current contract ends, but I simply cannot get to speak to anybody to discuss my renewal quote. I have a big credit balance and I want them to apply that credit before calculating my new monthly charge. I am now sick of…

Gas meter readings
Very confusing since my meter dated1991 has 3 different cu ft units printed on the face of the meter The meter is also a type U6 In multiplying one of the units shown on the meter face (212cu.ft/ hour ) x 0.0283 one gets 6 (rounded up) as in 6 cu.metres/ hour which confirms conveniently the U6 meter type ? Surprised that…

Varying gas bill calculations
Both my new gas supplier and even a Govt.UK web page state that in converting cu.ft. gas units on your meter into Kw/hrs one uses a conversion factor of 0.0283 as part of the overall formula to reach an equivalent Kwhrs figure. Since my old gas supplier has been using a conversion factor 100 x bigger at 2.83 how can they…

Central aircon with old ducting
Hi Just wondering if anybody has fitted an ASHP to work with 1970’s steel ducting? I’d like to replace my E10 electric warm air storage heater (10kw) and the ducting and vents are already in place. A suggestion was to fit a ducted inverter like this:…

I need some guidance on a problem with EON
Eon wrote me on 11 June to say that my current contract expires 27 July and offered two tariffs for renewal. They said that if I did not select a new tariff I would be switched to EonEnergyPlan - which is more expensive. So I went online to my account, as instructed, but could not find these tariffs. I then wrote them to…

e.on - How do you go about claiming back a credit balance in my account (£250).
I have emailed them at the recommended hi@eonnext.com but all they sent me was a copy of my statement showing my credit balance. Has anyone been able to get a credit balance refunded back to their bank account? If so what is the best way forward? Thanks
