Help! Potential prosecution for driving with no insurance
Hi everyone, So I'm in a bit of a pickle. On Monday a family friend of mine asked if I would take a look at his daughters car as it was leaking coolant, they dont have a lot of money so my good will convinced me to help. I'm a skilled technician so know my way around cars and took a look for them for free. Long story short…

NCD not pulling through on comparison sites and quotes jumping up as a result
I’ve only got 3 years NCD as I recently had an at fault accident. So I’ve tried to be on the ball with sorting my insurance. I put that I have 3 years NCD into the comparison site, but then when I click through onto the quote it’s defaulted to 9 years, then when I change it my quote goes up. I’ve now tried 4 comparison…

Car instance claim / already paid for the repair
Summary: We paid for a car repair on a colleagues car caused by our son opening a door (minor dent, no paint work) She picked the vehicle up and then a week later complained she wasn't happy about it. The person then repaired the door again as well as some other dents (not caused by us, we have images) she's still not…

County Claim Form Received
My wife had a minor bump in a car park in June, we notified insurers etc. Today I received a county claim against me (as the insurance policy is in my name). asking for around 2.5K with interest accruing at a daily rate of around £65 a day! Any idea why this has come to me and not my insurance company?

Future Travel - Insurance?
Didn't want to hijack a similar question thread as that one is about annual insurance. My query is if u have TI as part of your bank account benefits and u are paying a monthly account fee for those benefits... does that cover future holidays u have booked (assuming of course that u still have the account and paying)....…

Is this legal?
So my understanding is that the FCA rules are that existing Home insurance customers should be getting the same deal as the new ones. Yet as a new customer I can go via Top Cashback to Money Supermarket to earn £34 and then earn further £15 through Money Supermarket club . Yet Sky (and I woukd assume they are not alone…

Car Insurance, out of pocket despite the accident being the other person's fault
My wife was involved in an accident that was not her fault
and the other driver and insurance company have admitted liability. The damage
to our car was extensive and our insurance company wrote the car off. They paid
the market rate for the car less my excess and that has gone to try to pay off
the outstanding amount left…

Considering stopping paying for Health Insurance and just going self pay, is this a bad idea?
I'm getting on a bit now so have more ailments than I'd care to mention. Fortunately I've had health insurance for years which I've had the cause to use on the odd occasion, but I've just had the renewal come through from Bupa and it's nigh on £4,000. I don't know if they just don't want my business or if premiums have…

Travel insurance through a bank
I have been looking at a Nationwide Flexplus account simply for the travel insurance and breakdown cover. I have it in my head the insurance would be easier to deal with in the event of a claim as you could ask the bank to back you up?I also have a small tear in my lateral meniscus which doesn't affect my mobility but am…

GoSkippy Car insurance cancellation, challenge high broker fees
Hi all, Just cancelled my car insurance mid term as I've found a cheaper deal elsewhere. Go skippy claimed on their website it would be a £75 fee to do so. Now that I've cancelled it though they've partially refunded me what was left to pay on the credit agreement they're charging a nearly £200 pound broker fee. Is that…

Halifax Home Insurance renewal won't haggle?
We've just got our Halifax home insurance renewal and it's gone up 50%! (We've never had a home insurance claim, ever. In 20 years.) I followed Martin's steps and got alternative quotes and I can find 30 cheaper ones but I find it impossible to know the quality of those insurers. (if I have to make a claim, is it going to…

Insurance Cover: Subsidence Claim in process or settled by RSA (Morethan, Nationwide etc)
Some thoughts for you. RSA is in the process of pulling out of the domestic home insurance market. The usual Industry-wide agreement is, that after a Subsidence Claim the Insurer who Approved of and Carried-out the repairs, should continue cover both during the Claim and afterwards. This is considered Good Practice within…

Reclaiming excess from other parties insurer - Aviva
I was involved in a car accident in May 24 which was deemed to be partial fault by Esure (my insurer) and Aviva (the other party's insurer). Unfortunately, I didn't have motor legal cover so Esure told me I had to go directly to Aviva to get a refund for my excess. I've been chasing Aviva for over 4 months and the…

My wife has recently been diagnosed with MS. We have critical life insurance cover and we have recently remortgaged and advised we should draw down on the critical insurance cover. I have had searched but can advise me if there are any reasons why not to ‘cash in’ on the cover and wait? Thanks in advance

Overseas LIfe Assurance
I have a policy which was sold to me as a "pension" whilst working overseas more than 20 years ago. It was a monthly contribution scheme, which I stopped payments into once I returned to the UK permanently in the 90's. I have left this untouched since, until now. I know that the company concerned reports information to…

Car accident 16 months on, feel lost
16 months ago I was hit by someone turning in the wrong lane out of a side lane hitting me passenger side, causing me to spin then to hit into trees. The driver immediately admitted fault. I have record of all my injuries which have also prevented me from having treatments for genetic blood disorder. Since this accident my…

Reverse Life Insurance?
Hello, does anyone know of a ‘alternative life insurance’ which pays out if you are still alive in say 20 years time at 80, or even 30 years time at 90. The idea being that I could spend more money now, because I did not need to allow for post 90 expenses?
