How have you saved on every day spending?
Hi MSE'ers! I'm relatively new to the world of MSE but absolutely love what it stands for and seeing my bank balance hold its own. I have read lots of diaries and challenges and whilst I am not in a position to be saving £1,000s a year, I went through the numbers last night and in the last 2 years, my husband & I have…

Nikadi's Saving Log - trying to keep myself accountable!
I lurk more often than not but thought I'd set out somewhere where I could keep track of our savings as I'm rubbish at popping on regularly and keeping up with the We're Saving For A Deposit thread! I have apparently had a savings diary in the past, but that was 3 years ago and got abandoned and closed! I'm 27, DH is 28.…

Kids Pass charges on account before trial finished
I advise anyone who took advantage of the Kids Pass deal to check their bank account. I signed up on 31st August and paid the £1 only to find that I'd been debited £39.99 on 3rd October. I've contacted to ask for a refund but suggest you check in case you leave it too late.

I recently got an AA breakdown insurance quote of £113.50. This covers roadside and relay with a complementary home start. I went onto the AA web site and found I could get the same cover for £105 and if I take off the complementary home start It would go down to £69. I rang them and the best renewal they could offer was…

SOA - Suggestions/Scrutiny
So, the new financial year is almost here and I thought I'd do a review of 15/16 expenditure before setting budget targets for next year (this is a personal budget). Below is my SOA, averaged out for all of the last financial year (15/16) so doesn't take into account how variable income and expenditure can be…

Scrounger Saves 10k+ a year.
Scrounger Saves 10k+ a year. I get roughly £15000 a year in welfare and a extra £5000 if I do less than 16 hours work a week.
