Hi, I've just taken on a lease for a top floor studio that I will be billed for electric and water. I budgeted £60 per month for electric AND gas and a further £20 per month for water. Researching forums people seem to suggest Electric for a 1 bedroom flat/studio shouldn't be more than £20 a month. Could anyone who has…

Brit Gas switch Incentive
Hi, I'm on EDF standard tariff ar the moment. British Gas say that they will give me 125. after 12 months if I switch onto their standard tariff. Currently pay monthly fixed 76. via d/d to EDF for dual fuel. Does this seem like a good deal? It looks cheaper overall than trapping myself into an online saver rate. Naturally…

Can any EDF customers assist?
I am with EDF(dual fuel) Online Saver version 5 and now is the time to start comparisons with the imminent price rise. MSE tells us that the comparison sites take the price rises into account.I find that ambiguous.e.g if i enter 'online Saver v5' into the comparison then i see that i cannot make ANY savings but if i enter…

Scottish Power Want excessive DD payments, can I complain to regulator ?
Over the Xmas/Ny period we got stuck without any Heating Oil because the oil companys claimed they were short of stock and could not arange transport in the cold weather etc, etc, etc. They also used this as an oportunity for profitering, ie 70% price increases, but I am sure thats covered elsewhere on here. However…

I viewed a house today...
...and it has those pay as you go card meters which isn't what we want. If we went for the property and wished to change to billed leccy and gas do they change the meters for free or is it something we would need to factor into costs

Moving Gas Meter
We recently moved into a victorian property that had a prefab concrete garage with asbestos roof built on the side sometime in the 80's. The structural survey highlighted numerous issues with this addition and recommended demolishing it at the earliest opportunity due to possible unsafe conditions. It is also extremely…

NPower - No Gas bill after a year (yet another thread!)
I just called NPower to remind them to charge me for gas after not receiving a bill having signed up almost a year ago... after previously experiencing similar from British Gas business. I was told that they couldn't legally charge me for more than 9 months worth when it's all resolved as it's not my fault they didn't bill…

Boiler problem
The pressure in my boiler keeps dropping, and I have boiler cover with Scottish Power (same as PH Jones) so I called them. They tell me that they can't get to the faulty part because the boiler has been fitted incorrectly, and as this is not their fault it is not covered. The boiler was in the house when we bought it. I…
