Normally I check my Halifax online banking after around 12am on the Tuesday I'm meant to get paid and it's in there.. but nothing has shown up yet!? I'm really worried and fearing the worst as this has never happened before so it's weird there must be some reason.. what if they sent a letter out about my claim that I…

Losing out on Severe Disability Element on UC
Hi, So I was on ESA support group, moved to a UC postcode and was forced to start claiming UC. I am claiming PIP as well. Now I'm on UC I have lost the severe disability element that I was getting on ESA. Some people have said it's gone through a high court and we should get the money back at some stage and it may start to…

PIP Claim - new to all this
Hi, I wondered if anyone knew how long Pip forms take once you have rang? My husband called yesterday and the automated service said 8-10 weeks for a new claim but is that 8-10 weeks just to get the form or 8-10 weeks to get an appointment? We doubt he will get approved for it as it seems hard to get approved but the job…

Esa assessment phase - sick line enough?
Hi there quick question is a sick line from a gp along with your application enough to guarantee they'll put you onto the assessment phase at least? I understand this isn't normally a big deal because it's paid at same basic rate as me a but sick line is backdated two months so to be guaranteed onto the assessment phase…

Disabled Facilities Grant - Rules & Regs
I would be most grateful for your help. I wanted to find out what the rules&Regs/policies are for DFGs. For example how is it decided by Govt. how much a borough/town gets allocated in the yearly budget. If the money has 'run out' for that year does this create a stagnant queue waiting for next years budget allocation. It…

VAT exemption?
I'm having some building work done and wondered if it would be possible in some way to get the VAT waived. I am a full-time wheelie with all the usual fringe benefits and would be happy to be able to save a couple of grand.

Confused about pip payments
I went for my Pip assessment ( change over from dla) on 21st August, I was awarded enhanced on both care and mobility from 28th Oct, my DLA is due on 10th Oct so how will it work? Will I get part payment of DLA and on 28th Oct get 4 weeks pip plus the 2 weeks DLA that I didn't get on the 10th Oct?

Safeguarding large sum of money
A relative in his twenties is due to inherit over £500,000. He is intelligent and has mental capacity. However he has little experience of managing money, a trusting and generous nature, and mental health problems. He feels at risk of financial exploitation, and of making foolish decisions and wants to do what he can to…

Pip appeal first stage appeal court Monday 17th of September 2018
I'm at the first tier appeal court this Monday. I had been on DLA since 1991. I was told that I would have to claim esa even though my partner had claimed income support for all those years for both of us he was also getting carers allowance. When I went to the pip assessment I failed so went for the mandatory decision…

A bit of advice
I wonder if anyone could give me some advice, in 2016 my partner transferred from High Rate Care & Low Rate Mobility DLA to PIP. Upon application he was awarded full care but no mobility though he had been given 8 point for that component. We requested a mandatory reconsideration but this failed and then went to tribunal…

Pre-paid prescription. Is it worth a year over 3 months ?
I have been buying a pre-payment card for my 3 prescribed meds. So far I can stretch buying a 3 month pass (£29.10) 3 times over a year as I tend to re-order a couple of times for the duration of the 3 months (as there seems to be no limit on how many times you can re-order withing the 3 month period) So in theory you are…

Mangar Airflo Mk 3 - battery not charging
My elderly in-laws purchased a Mangar Airflo Mk 3 bath lifting cushion (probably not the correct technical term!) a few years ago. It has received very little use, they both use showers rather than baths these days but the unit stopped charging a while back. Rather than just scrap it I'd like to repair it and sell it for…

Disabled Parking outside my house
There has been a disabled parking bay painted on the ground in the back lane on my side of the road outside my house for the people who live across the road because they have put a shed on their drive way. I'm planning on putting a driveway on the back of my house and i was wondering if this disabled bay could be moved or…

Council refused to renew BB for a disabled 74 year old woman
Another Blue Badge query. My wife has had her BB since August 2015. She does not receive PIP or DLA as being too old to apply. She however does receive Attendance Allowance for day and night care indefinitely and has done for the past six years since she was 68. I completed the online renewal process as per the email the…
