Nine UC payments = Mortage SMI

Options
Is that correct from help with Mortgage Interest if I were to receive Nine UC payments (when eventually switched from pip)
Then Nine UC payments could be one eligibility benefit to then apply for mortgage SMI.

That's the link I referred to earlier
after you’ve had 9 consecutive Universal Credit payments

Not sure what they mean as low earner.
This could mean it's to my benefit to have a change in circumstances to trigger UC and continue to possibly be eligible for mortgage SMI.
    Thanks

You don't switch from PIP to UC they're completely different benefits. PIP isn't means tested and UC is. PIP isn't part of UC either.

Yes, UC is one of the benefits you need to be claiming to receive SMI and you need to be claiming it for 9 months before you can apply.

I will be switched from WTC to UC before 2023 approx, though Amber Rudd is currently dealing with that.-maybe I got mixed up with PIP.
My understanding is if I were to apply a change of circumstances then that would trigger UC without waiting to be auto switched in a few years.

That will depend on what your change of circumstances are. Not all changes of circumstances prompt a move across.

Amazing Poppy, does another change of working hours either decreased or increased meet change in circumstances, though I'll search and not take up your time.
    Thanks

Think I identified one or two possibility's
1 Increase working hours-could then apply to be switched to UC
Forgot the second option though UC triggger from WTC is very limited in possible choices though not impossible, though guide states I would have to be better off which by some recent calculators I doubt I'll be better for under UC.

Even though it's a change of circumstances, it's not classed as change of circumstances that will prompt a move to UC. You would indeed have a choice to either stay on tax credits or move to UC.

Some people are better off on UC, whether you will be will depend on your circumstances.

If you're claiming the disabled element of WTC then the equivalent of that on UC is LCWRA and for this you'll need fit notes and most likely a face to face assessment so be aware of that.

    Thanks once more Poppy
Some of your info matched what I had read yesterday though there is one or two unanswered questions (without facetoface interview)
The limited capability work activity group or element you kindly mention I suspect could be the correct UC group.
Various online UC calculators display considerable different results in terms of what amount I could receive, particularly as I'de be moving from WTC -with disabled part.
In reference to fit note or notes, I still have one from early 2018-if a more upto date one is required then it would have to be arranged by ms nurses or similar.
The attempted online calculators point to anything from minus's 75 pounds per month or more in terms of moving to UC so I don't think I could be deemed to be 'better off'
Though personally I don't mind taking less if it starts the nine months UC continuos payments, in view of future H.B.

Respect your detailed advice Poppy, thanks

You're welcome. There's 2 groups for UC. The one which is LCW if you're placed into this group you won't be paid any extra money per month. Rules for this changed in April 2017.

You need to get LCWRA to be paid the extra £328 per month and there's criteria involved to be given this. It maybe worth looking at the descriptors for this at some point in the future.

At the moment because you're receiving the disabled element of WTC then i'm going to guess that you'll be better off where you are. Transferring now could be a risk especially before the transitional support protection is in place.
