Helping a 80 year old man who was attacked by two Rottweilers 18 months ago and lost an arm and leg as a result. He can’t travel safely in a car so needs a mobility car with wheelchair access. Naturally following such an awful event you would assume that he qualifies for the mobility scheme but no! He can’t get PIP as too…

I have a family member in their 70s who recently had a brain aneurysm. It looks like they will have to remain in care. I am told their house may now be taken from them to pay for the care. Terminal Illness Discounts?
I was wondering if anyone knew of discounts available for people with terminal illness? Utilities, council tax etc.... Both the person with the diagnosis and his spouse are both above retirement age, so it appears the only state benefit available is the Attendance Allowance which can be fast tracked. I'm struggling to find…

Should I apply for PIP?
I am sure every claim is subjective, and people with various conditions will be impacted in wildly differing ways. I suffer from Ulcerative Colitis and have done for 20+ years now. I have had various surgeries, though nothing recently. My condition impacts me in different ways and to varying degrees over periods of time.…

Did you know about the 10% off for disabled people using Morrisons online ?
I have seen various online snippets about this saying it is a trial and only for online purchases over £25. The disabled customer needs to prove their disabled status by showing an award letter or items such as a Blue Badge. I use Morrisons, so read in more detail and found that you need to enrol with Purpl, a site…

PIP and supported living
My autistic son lives in supported living accommodation and claims the highest rate of DLA for daily living and also mobility. He's not yet had a letter inviting him to apply for PIP. If after applying he fails to qualify for the daily living element by not scoring a 4 in an activity, this would leave him unable to afford…

Gov Active Lives Survey
Is anyone else feeling a tad harassed by .Gov and their Active Lives Survey. It seems to me this type of survey is totally flawed and maybe that is why they seem to be escalating the pressure, but there are reasons why I for one will not be participating, not even for their £5 bribe. First of all they include a QRCode and…

Extended warranty for mobility scooter
I bought a Baja Wrangler 2 mobiltiy scooter in July 24 for £3700. This was a massive purchase for me, I've managed the last 25 years with second hand but decided that getting older I wanted something more comfortable. So I made the purchase, I did not opt for the extended warranty at the time as I've never had any issues…
