I have thread on here about getting a downstairs WC for my FIL.
In that thread I got some advice about charities that help ex services people and RNBF contacted my FIL and said he could claim AA and would send a form to him.
It has been 11 days and no form but his Royal Mail post only deliver once a week it seems.
I had a look at the gov.uk site about AA and if I fill it in for him do I have to register for him online and when I have filled in the form do I have to print it out and post it to them.
Also will it need a signature if done online?
My partner and I don't live near him so we were going to fill out the form when he gets it but was hoping online would be quicker.

According to that you can sign the form on the applicants behalf if you have Power of Attorney.
Note that the advice is to try to get help from someone whose used to doing them (perhaps an Age UK or CAB advisor) in order to give the best chance of the application being successful.1 -
Hi, probably wiser heads than mine around but I'm in process of completing this form for my mother and my understanding is..
1) Whilst you can complete the form on-line (using a pdf reader) you still have to print it off and get it signed, regardless of who is signing it.
2) Difference between completing it on-line and having it posted to you is that in the case of it having being posted to you, then if the claim is successful the payments will be backdated to when you contacted them and asked for a form, rather than if you download and post it in which case the payments will be calculated from the date that they receive the form.
3) Section 15 allows you to sign on someone else's behalf, but you I think you need to qualify as holding POA, be a official Deputy or a couple of other positions. In my case although hold POA, I've completed the form but my Mum will check and sign it.
Lots of resource out there on the web giving advice about how to complete the form, it's not the most straightforward but worth looking at.1 -

Yes, weekdays only. Monday - Friday 8.00 am - 6.00 pm. If you call them I'm sure they could answer the generic questions you ask in your OP as no personal info is mentioned.0 -

A person from RNBF is meant to call some time next week who is dealing with FIL case.
I will get FIL to ask him about it.
We have tried local CAB but they have a long backlog and I think the time was 2 months before they can get someone to help with the form

He has Parkinson's and doesn't go out as he has incontinence and his balance isn't good so falls a fair bit.0
