Can you pay credit with credit?
I have a loan with a ridiculous interest rate (15.9%) and I want to move it to something with a cheaper rate. I have fairly good credit score (870) and the balance is about £5700. I was thinking of trying to pay it with a 0% card like the post office one, but I don't know if they'd give me that kind of limit. Also I don't…

Is this behaviour dumb?
My OH has told me that one of the things I do each month is anti-DFW & dumb. Each month on the 1st I put £200 into my ISA until the point in the month where I run out of money & put £100 back in drips & drabs (the rest is the monthly budget for quarterly bills) His pov is that the ISA is 5% whereas the o/d is 14%. So i'm…

1st Mystery Shopping Assignment goes pearshaped - will I get paid?
I've done mystery shopping before but only recently (thanks to this site!) signed up for it again. Anyway I had an offer of an assignment - which had to be done today -which I accepted. However when I got there, the shop was closed - and it appears that they don't open on Saturdays. So will I get paid do you reckon?

DCA Query
Just a quick question, if a company passes on your debt to a DCA, do they have to formally advise you in writing that they are going to do this or can they just pass your details on?

What will your SOA be like?
I've been thinking of 2008 when we are debt free. What things would you put on your SOA that you currently make little or no provision for? for us, it will be over payments on the mortgage, pensions (which neither of us have at the moment so we'll be paying large chunks in to one then) and a rainy day fund. Hmmm, that'll…

A Word of Warning to Us All (long)
This is a long and dire warning of how not to bring up your kids. Today I went to visit a friend. She has three children and her kids have grown up alongside mine but they have been brought up very differently. Hers have had a very respectable but quite hard upbringing, having to do regular chores. No pocket money, few…

Good morning guys and gals  Another gloomy day down here. Although we braved it and went out yesterday, I feel like snuggling under the blankets and watching DVDs and TV all day today. How has this board changed your life?
Just thought I would see how much people have been helped by sharing experiences or getting encouragement from like minded individuals. Personally I am now far more determined to be debt free, I have a budget that works and know exactly what is going on with all of my bank a/c, c/cards and loans.

Cookers broken and I am thrilled!
Right, this might sound mad as our oven has completly died the death. However, my husband's reaction, and he loves cooking, was to say well we won't be getting another till we've saved up for it. It's the microwave and hob from now on. He's had his lightbulb moment! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Which direction to attack the debt? Advice please :)
A few years ago, we were in major debt (over £30,000, plus small mortgage), but we managed to clear it with some serious renegotiations (thanks to the CCCS help pack) and the (unrelated) sale of our house :j We've kept things under control since then, until the last few months - a couple of store cards taken out with the…

Question regarding cahoot account using Quidco
Is this an account where I have to pay a minimum amount into each month, e.g. my salary? Once opened and money tracked through quidco would I be able to cancel it as I already have an ING savings account and a current account or is it worth keeping open? Sorry for the silly questions, thanks for reading
