Me too, I love this board so much I would marry it if I could!! I love reading about the experiences people have gone through and although I only have a 'small' debt compared to many (less than £2000) the inspiration I have found is marvellous, I'd just like to thank everyone who has motivated and inspired me!:TKate

I dread to think how much worse off i would be if it wasnt for this board. I would have carried on using my CC and probably would have racked up £15k now instead of £10k.
Although, I dont think I would have as many arguments with my OH about money (he doesnt get it and is still racking up debt - where they will let him!) so we argue day and night about it!0 -
I have paid off a few grand and stopped buying unnecasary carp.
Im now AMAZING at maths
I have loads of instant mates that I dont have to spend money to chat to
Im a different person no longer irresponsible and chaotic and annoying. ( so I like to think LOL) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I have never come across another website that could change my life so much! It's amazing! For the first time in my life I feel motivated to do something and I have stuck at it! I have never had this much determination before.
Also, since coming here and learning all about debt and other financial products, I am going to start to train to become a financial advisor in the new year as I find it all fascinating and like the idea of helping people with their cash for a living! So if I am successful, this site will be partly responsible for me changing my career and earning a fat wedge
Was debt free... then went travelling!0 -
It's not so much that this site has helped me get debt-free, but that this site has given me great tools for avoiding bad debt in the future. The money saving tips have helped me do a proper realistic budget that should avoid me reaching for the credit card in future.
Most importantly, the community spirit here has helped to motivate and inspire me.
I almost see money saving as a new hobby of mine and one which I am thoroughly enjoying.0 -
Um its the change this board *stopped* that I love
I had rent arreers of 2500 when I came here and was about to get evicted. I now have the arreers down below the 2000 mark, the rest of my debt has either started going down, or at least stopped going up, and I still live in my flat

Really getting interested in moneysaving, and this board particularly, caused a big change in my life, money wise and in other ways. I was in relatively little debt (just under £2000) but I soon managed to clear that by adopting dfw ways! I now only have my student loan to pay, not urgently of course, and am using my new skills to budget and make sure I'm living within my means.
And I love the community feeling... its addictive!Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now... Avenue QOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 003
