What will your SOA be like?

I've been thinking of 2008 when we are debt free. What things would you put on your SOA that you currently make little or no provision for? for us, it will be over payments on the mortgage, pensions (which neither of us have at the moment so we'll be paying large chunks in to one then) and a rainy day fund. Hmmm, that'll be us broke again for a while I should think while we play catch up.
What about you? What will you change?

There's no mortgage to cover - we rent these days - and on benefit income we're not getting a mortgage unless there is a major crash. Don't know if a pension is an option or worthwhile in our situation - will have to look into it.
So, for us, it will more than likely be to build up some savings, increase our life insurance, have a good holiday each year (not getting one before we clear the debts, lets put it that way), and the rest will go on things like swimming lessons/sports/clubs/school outings for the kids (3 of them), get DH into a gym (that's disabled-friendly) so he can get some half-decent physio/exercise, and leisure (a trip to the cinema would be good - not been in almost 6 years) - everyday things like that.
It'll just be nice to know that if I see something for £10 in a sale I can afford to buy it, rather than having to come home and juggle a month's worth of money to even have the chance.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
I will be RICH :rotfl:
OK maybe not but I will feel rich with no debt hanging over me and £800 better off each month!Leason learnt :beer:0 -
I keep a picture of an old converted mill that I cut out of a magazine. It ms my perfect house. When I am debt free I shall still be a mad money saver as I WILL live there one day, so will save and save and save..."grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me"

DEBT FREE SINCE APRIL 29TH 2007:T :T :T0 -
By the time I'm Debt free in 2009 I would hope that my OH and I would be engaged and looking for a place to rent or buy, so I would have a mortgage/rent, council tax and bills to pay. It would be totally different to my life now as I still live at home. I wouldn't however have to pay for transport to see my OH and my car will have been paid off by then as wellDFW Nerd no. 177

A regular decent hairdo. Unless the 'staggering around under a privet hedge' look attracts some kind of sponsorship deal with Black & Decker and their hedge-trimmer range between now and thenEek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0

Ooooooo.. 2008.. what will it hold!! I will be nearly DF then (apart from the car that I don't benefit from paying off early!). I hope to have LOTS of savings... I want to buy my own place so I guess I'll need lots stored in the bank for that!
I've just upped my pension contribution and shouldn't need revising until 2012!!! I'm booked on a holiday next year.. but I do really want to go to Oz so if I can fit that in on the way I will be more then pleased!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Hopefully the beginning of 2008 will see my OH and I debt free. I will then be looking at buying a place to let out and hopefully going to Uni. We pay out £1,100 per month on debt repayments, so even if I gave up work we would still be better off than we are now! How mad is that!!!!
And I can start saving for a Tiffany ring. The one I want is £8k - bargain don't you think!!!!Total Debt November 2016 =£9,660.52
Monthly Repayments = £593.09
Goal to be debt free December 2017/ Savings £500 :T0 -
hopefully by 2008 i'll be debt free, my target is summer 2007. i'm hoping i'll be driving by then and have a car. at only 26 (in 08 i don't know if it's worthwhile me trying to pay off more of the mortgage, after all by then hopefully i'll have met the man of my dreams and be looking to upgrade anyway, but itd be nice to keep this place too to rent out
i guess it's difficult to think about that far in advance i guess once i'm debt free i'll make a plan around whatever circumstances i have then.0
