Seiss Grants included as profit?
Does anyone know if the grants claimed will be included as trading profit? If the grants are included this will mean a lot of self employed will lose out as the grants will increase profit meaning 5th grant can’t be claimed by many as won’t show 30% reduction if grants are included in trading profit total. Anyone shed…

Who do I escalate this to?
Hope this is the right place for this question. I'm medically exempt from wearing a face covering. I always wear a lanyard with an exemption badge and am very careful when I'm in any shops to keep well away from people. Yesterday I visited a local garden centre/hardwear store. I haven't been there since before the 1st lock…

Rural Wales midwife provision: covid times
Really expensive and frustrating for us but I’d imagine there is nothing we can do. My wife is due to have our 2nd child in June and is considered high risk due to a previous c-section. From today onwards she now has a midwife or consultant appointment every 2 weeks. Appointments would usually be at our local GP surgery…

Is the self-employed sole trader without an incorporated business eligible for a Bounce Back Loan?
if yes, then also, would it be possible to use the 2019/20 self-assessment as proof of income since it is now past the last accounting year? Basically I am self-employed sole trader, but I am not the director of a company, no business bank account and do not have an eligible 2018/2019 self assessment. Thanks

Fourth Seiss grant
Hi. On the HMRC website it states that they will look at your 2019/20 tax return firstly, to see if you are eligible for the 4th grant. If you are not eligible, then they will look at 16/17 17/18 18/19 19/20 That is confusing. Does that mean that if your eligible through the 2019/20 tax return, it's based on that tax year,…

Exercising outside more than once a day - allowed now?
On reading the government guidance on exercise it seems that the reference to 'once a day' has been removed, however I can't find any way to access previous versions to check this. Because of my job, it's really important that I obey all the guidance (and of course it's important anyway just to be a good citizen). Has…

SEISS LATE SELF ASSESSMENT
Hi I'm late with with self assessment 2019/20 because of HMRC inadequacy. Took me 5 months and a dozen phone calls to find out why I couldn't do Tax Return online like previous 8 years. Eventually I was told I had to do paper self assessment as I entered type of bankruptcy in 2019. I was sent this this week but I'm now to…

Caravan site fees and VAT
I have been notified that the site fees are being increased by 3% and VAT being charged at 5% in line with the Government’s response to Covid. However, the company have charged VAT of 5% on the gross amount (net + 3% increase + 5% VAT). Which means the total increase is quite a bit above the 3% stated. Is this normal…
